Yes the two different charts would make a difference in how you interpret the compression tests done during our meet. The later one posted would suggest better compression that the former used during our meet. Anyone done a real analysis to show which graph is correct?

Woohoo, I move from a rear rotor compression of 4.6 (Failing) to 4.8 (Failing)!

Sorry to hear about the crash. Definitely make their insurance pay for repairs. Fight them if they claim total loss.

Sorry I do not remember the origin. I was just searching late one night and saw that. It was something I found on RX8club. I'd love to know how he calculated the graph #s...
Sorry to hear you got rear ended. Another one bites the dust...

Hey, I was at the last meet up and found that some of you were quite knowledgeable so I thought I'd see if one of you could assist me.
My coolant/radiator light keeps coming on. My coolant tank is full. I've done some research and it seems that this is a common issue and the sensor goes bad and needs to be replaced.
I hope it's just a bad sensor but it still makes me nervous.
The dealerships cost a fortune. Do any of you have any suggestions on how/where I could get this fixed in Philadelphia?
I saw that there may be a way to disconnect the sensor? Is this safe?
Help!!!!!!
Thank you

This is a very common problem, I had it myself. For a long time I just disconnected the sensor and check my coolant level at every fill up. No harm no foul. I eventually replaced the coolant tank when my radiator had a leak. I believe it cost around $200 for parts and labor. If it were me though, I would just unplug the sensor and go about my business, just make sure you check your coolant level often. See the sensor location below.

Personally I use a bluetooth adapter to record and watch engine coolant temps, just so I'm ahead of any potential problems. But check your coolant and oil when you fill up, and the light is pretty pointless.
I'd like to share to anyone else reading that the coolant light is really totally worthless. Not only does it come on when the reservoir is full, it sometimes doesn't come on when you're out of coolant. Ignore the light. Check your coolant.

Yea just disconnect the sensor, even my dealer suggested that rather than pay the $200 to change the bottle. Just check the level every now and then. If i chose later to replace the cooling system, then at that time I will change out the bottle. But for now I will keep my $200.

Almost all the gauges on the stock 8 are useless. The coolant light is so sketchy, the oil light only reads low once you are DANGEROUSLY low, and the engine temp wont tell you much of anything until you have already overheated. The torque app can be valuable in this regard and is very cheap.
BTW, Enaris, do you have trouble keeping the bluetooth OBDII plugged into the car overnight or do you unplug it each time? Whats the latest on your car? Is JPR rebuilding your motor?

As of now it is set for May 16th, Sorry I dont tend to get on here so I forgot! Last fall was a good time for the 8 or so people who showed up. This year looks like it'll be even bigger. I live less than 1000 feet from an elementary school with a nice big parking lot so we can all line up the cars and get some nice photos there of everyones car!
if you'd like to stay up to date on the event info add me on facebook "dave detweiler" my picture is my FC![Smilie](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
@gwilliams this is a "all rotary/rotary vehicle meet" I invited a guy with a 2JZ FC, a LS1 swapped FC...
EDIT: I'm not too far from where we had the previous meet for Iron hill brewery. If anyone is interested we could cruise down the highway to the go-kart track again.

Hey that all sounds great but I was hoping we could do something sooner! We can go to that event as well.
I'd be up for going to Delaware.
Maybe Iamfodi could find a fun drive for us?
Each of our last two meets were more just meets, we didn't really drive.
Let's drive!
