Wayne . . . are you a little freaked out by Cicadas?
I can't remember, but I don't think that this is actually the worste year. 2006 if memory serves is the real year of the locust. 1972 bob Dylan wrote "And the Locusts Sang" in Princeton New Jersey, 1989 life was quite cicadaey, and 17 years after that is 2006. This is just the primmer.

Haze- that may have been the 13 year variety. According tothe wesites I have been reading, 1987 was the last year for the 17 year cycle. Thre is a 13 year variety as well, and lucky for us, we won't be alive to see both emerge in the same year - that happens next in 2118.
Does anyone one know when they are starting - it's been so quiet so far!

hi, sorry to interupt, but very confused by these posts. I live in Texas and don't know what you are talking about, are you talking about locusts? What is this beast you speak of? Also, I am wondering becasue I am buying my car in Philly on Friday and then driving back to Dallas thru Carlisle to pick up my lady friend. Should I be weary of this beast like insect?

I was at Carlisle and there were only two RX-8's there out of a total of 3700 custom import cars. My head got pretty big seeing the swarm of people constantly around my car. The other was a red stock Rx-8 with no mods at all from what I could see. If anyone has any doubt that an RX-8 is a head turner, I have tons of film of us driving through the show looking at cars while people were turning around and staring and pointing at us. I felt pretty damn cool I am embarassed to say.

I know what you're talking about. On the way down to the show i had at least 6 people that I've never seen before either taking pictures or videoing my car on the highway. It was a pretty good feeling considering my car is completely stock.
What color is your 8 I might have seen it? I did see the blue one and the red one in the fun lot. The red one had a system but was a base manual. This kid was also telling me about his Mazdaspeed S/C that he's getting in the near future. At that point I just walked away.

I don't think it was you because I saw the same one he was referring to. What time did you get to the satellite parking, because I saw a Red AP when I leaving, I waved but I don't think whoever it was saw me.
