Central Virginia Mazda Club - Lynchburg
Time to give Central Virginia a club. Northern Va. has plenty but that's too far for me to drive for monthly meets. Any and all Mazda's around Lynchburg, Roanoke and Charlottesville give me a shout. I'd like to have a group that could meet a few times a year, maybe gather for caravan's to the BOTD, DGRR and more local events at VIR in Danville. No dues or fees, no political crap with leadership, just people getting together to show off their car and go for a drive. www.centralvirginiamazdaclub.com (or www.thecvmc.com for short).
Some shots from our Blue Ridge Parkway nearby. On this drive I came across a terrific road (Rte.56) from the Parkway over towards Lovingston, VA that had some turns rivaling the Dragon in Tennessee!

Waynesboro will be a great location for you roon, the drive we went on in the pics above was only 30-45 minutes from Waynesboro. Send me an email from the link (www.thecvmc.com) and I'll add you to any group emails that go out.

Hey 1stgen, I've been to C'ville a few times but I drive a company car now when I'm at work so the VR gets a little more rest. I haven't seen you over at the web.com and I don't make it over here as much. My new brainstorm of an idea was to get a few people together in Central Virginia and drive the Parkway some. Send me your email and I'll add you to the distribution list, maybe you can catch a meet with us.

I was the sole Mazda from Lynchburg but we had a good time down at the VIR track below Danville. A few of the Raleigh gang was up as well.

It's okay Crazy, I'll let you think you're Central Virginia. You evidently aren't a VA native.
We do however have a few Richmond folks that regularly drive this way. I'll put you on the email list and maybe you can catch a drive with us.

Spring II ... or Spring #2
It's here, May 3rd! Saturday drive, meeting at the same parking lot beside Shaker's restuarant (River Ridge Mall - Lynchburg). Gathering from 10:00 to 11:00 am, starting the drive at 11:00. Blue Ridge Parkway towards the Peaks of Otter. All you Roanokers need to be in on this one. We'll do lunch at the Peaks, either at the lodge or brown bag to a picnic table.
Nothing fancy, just hoping for a good drive through the mountains. Come join us.

Much improved weather for our second meet! A beautiful day to be out in a Mazda. Now we're looking to round out the field of Mazda's in our club, we need some Miata's to show up, a Speed3, a few more 7's!
Tentative date for a summer meet is July 12th or the 19th, so start planning now.

Bump for VR8
We're off again! Won't some of you join us?
Date: July 12th (Saturday)
Place: Sherando Lake Recreation Area http://www.virginia.org/site/descrip...p?attrID=29489
Time: The earlier we get there, the better!
Drive: From Lynchburg, I plan to leave around 9:00 am. Rt. 501 to the Parkway, north to Sherando Lake. Arrive around 10:00.am.
On our first drive up the Blue Ridge Parkway it snowed! This trip should be much more conducive to our cars. This also means all of you Northern members have another chance to join us.
This is a terrific VA state park that will allow us to cook burgers/dogs/chicken for lunch, take a walk or mountain climb on some trails, dip in the lake, lay on the beach, fish .... whatever! Afterward, we can hang out by the cars or take another drive around the Parkway. If you're a camper, you can get there very early (maybe even Friday) and set up camp.
Some costs are:
*
$8 per car ($6 if only two people) - day visit
*
$20 per night if camping ($25 if you need electricity) - this includes the day visit fee
*
Each car can bring their own food. I'll bring the charcoal.
I can send directions if you wish, but try Google, that's all I will do. Let me know what you think and if you think you'll make it.

Thanks G! I was determined not to be the only one who posted in this thread so I was going to let it die a slow death. Maybe this short revival will attract another Central Virginian.
