Anytime. I currently have my V1 unit hardwired so it's sits stealthly above the rear-view mirror and I recently purchased and installed the newest Blinder laser jammers. I'll be moving them flush into the front grill though some time next week. Together, they work like a charm Here in Ohio they're using a lot of laser, more so than most states, so a jammer is crucial if you really want to be safe. Most detectors, even V1, basically just inform you that you got a ticket. Together though, they've saved me several times already.
Here's a great site if you want to expand you're knowledge on RD/jammers

Is anyone interested in the stock Dunlop tires off my 8? They have been rotated every 4k miles and have about 13k on them. At the last rotation, Sears listed them at 9/32nds so they have plenty of tread left. I just ordered some all seasons from tirerack and don't think I will put the Dunlops back on and it would be a shame to just junk them.

Well, the stock tires that have sold in the "items for sale" section have been going for anywhere from 200-300 so I was figuring around $250 but make me an offer. I kind of thought about keeping them for an autocross even but swapping them onto the rims gets expensive.

i think ill pass. if you were just looking to unload them cheap ($100) id take them off your hands, but i already have summer and winter tires plus three extra summer ones so i cant justify that expense!

since I've decided to wait until next spring to buy my 8 [and it looks like there wil lstill be plenty of 05's sitting around when my BMW lease ends in April ], I thought I'd ask about somehting completely different - what do you fine people think of the Mazda 5? Somehting about it draws me toward it. Not to replace the 8 that I don't have, mind you, but for our "other" vehicle when the minivan is retired.

I think when comparing the 5 with other similar cars in its class (i.e. Scion xA,B, Matrix, Vibe, Suzuki ???, etc.) it's a sharper looking car. The sliding rear doors are pretty clever too!

I drove the 6 and the 3 recently. For me I enjoyed the 3 more. Maybe because I'm used to the 8 and having a smaller car. It felt more fun to drive.

Speaking of driving, anyone notice how cold it's gotten? I've put off changing my tires too long. I have to do it this weekend if I want to drive during the next light snow. How did everyone else do this week?

Tire switch complete. I really like the look of my winter tires, probably more than the OEM ones even though they're 17's. Now bring on the snow.

Zelig - I think I saw your Ti at church on Sunday, late service. Looks nice! My fiance commented that she like your set up better than mine.

Too funny. The only thing different on the outside of my car are my winters tires. I really like how they look though. Kinda adds a meatier/aggressive look to the car. We'll have to get together after church sometime. Some kind of Vineyard RX-8 Group Meet or something. My wife and I are always up for going out to eat after church (late service only).

Right now though I'm couped up at home since I got an Xbox360 from waiting in line for 17 hours outside in front of Best Buy at Tuttle. Xbox360 = 2 days off from work + Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving All!

Zelig - Definitely, I am game! How lucky are you, landing an xbox 360! The winter tires, that what I meant, Jenna liked your winter wheel+tires set-up than my winter set-up. I feel like my setup makes the car look like a monster truck. :-(

Happy T-day to you all also.

RA-Eight, I'm game for anything. I should be going to late service again this weekend as my sister will be singing in the chior (I think) for that weekend. If I ever get new summer tire rims they're definately going to be either black or dark grey. It just makes the Ti:grey look so much better. I'm pretty sure I can convince Emmy to go out to lunch on Sunday if you're up for it. My vote is for First Watch up near Polaris. Drop me a line at rx8@zelig2NOSPAM.com (removing the NOSPAM part).
