Mazda Direct gave us a deal we couldn't pass up, folks, so we took delivery of a Black Touring w/ Navigation Mazda 5 yesterday! If any of you are looking to pick up something, regardless of what is, they will deal to get you into something by the end of the month. I got the car for under invoice and a great amount on our '96 Accord trade. Our payment to buy it over 5 yrs. is close to what people are paying for a 36-48 month lease. A no brainer in our eyes. Byers, where I bought my 8, had the same deal on the table but just didn't have the Mazda5 we wanted. M.Direct had every color for us to see which really helped make our decision easier. There finance guy just picked up a Shinka a few monthes ago so I informed him of the sight and he may join us sometime for a get together.
All in all, the Mazda5 really impressed us for being a $20k car. $23k loaded. Practicality, performance and looks sold us on it. There isn't anything else like it out there which we liked also. So two Mazda's and an Expedition round out the family. Never thought in a million years I'd own three Ford's!
Remember, Byers and Direct are really blowing cars out if anyone needs anything. I've got names if you need them.
Take care all and I'll post a couple pics soon.

btw, my wife read part of this thread and wanted me to comment that her previous car had something wrong on the front end keeping her from having her license plate on the front. I think she ended up with at least 2 tickets for it and was pulled over a few other times. I keep joking with her that I'm going to take my front plate off and she gets pretty mad. She's already upset that the 8 has a lower insurance rate than here cavilear.

Installed the RP Sort Shifter yesterday. 5th-6th is by far the best difference. 1-2 & 3-4 are fine but I don't really notice a huge difference. All in all it's nice.

Ra, Where can I find info on the RP Supercat? I tried looking it up but found nothing. Any idea on the price?
I'd like to hear the intake once you get it done. I'm still waiting on more info about the MS CAI that is supposed to be out soon.

there isnt much difference except at wot, and even then its only a bit louder but more throaty than loud. the cool thing is the sucking sound it makes while sitting still, just a nice little whistle! im three tanks in and am noticing slightly better mpg, but not enough to justify the 450 quite yet. however, the car does feel more responsive and seems to rev a bit quicker

I'm always in for a track day. I think I'd like that better than parking lot racing because I'd like to get out of second gear.
Ra, brf, I want to get together to hear these intakes. Ra, aren't you by me during the week on the east side? I work in Gahanna. brf, I know your in Dublin so I'm close on the weekends.
Tomorrow afternoon, say 1p-2p, works for me if you two guys are up for an impromptu meeting. Nothing fancy just a quick meet up to check out the intakes.
Let me know.

Count me in for the track day. Btw - just put on new Kuhmo Ecsta SPT's this week. The jury's still out on 'em, as I haven't gone too far yet, but I think it will work pretty well for $125 OTD ea. I'll keep you posted.

OK, nothing today guys but it will be soon. We'll wait for Ra to get his wedding out of the way then we'll plan something with a little more in advance.
I'm liking the RP shifter more and more as I drive the car. The mod is a cake walk so if anyone gets one I'll be more than willing to help out.

Dent Wizard on Billingsly, just down from Byers. I've taken a couple cars there and they do fantastic work. Should run you around $125, give or take. Good Luck.

Somebody say Track Day? Here's another thought https://www.nasaproracing.com/nasa_e.../?event_id=318
We could do just Friday or a combined Saturday/Sunday thing.
Any takers?

I think either would be fun. Though I'm more of a casual sport driver. A few hours at the track would do me just fine. I wouldn't want races, points etc. Just some hard, fast driving to open her up a bit to see what she really can do.

Hey guys, Any ideas where I can get my clear bra for my Mazda5 installed? The guy that I used for my 8 and Expedition is no longer doing them. The windows are getting tinted next Weds. so I was hoping to hit it the same day. Any help would be appreciated.

Hola folks! I'm a new owner livin' just east of Columbus in Pataskala. Found the forum a while back and read up on the car before picking one up just under three weeks ago. Havin' fun, though fuel mileage sucks the high, hard one... and here it goes up to $3/gallon...grrr.
Anyway, hope to see you guys around sometime...I'll wave if I see ya...and sorry for the crappy picture...my wife was fiddling with the exposure speeds on the camera.

Dealership service recommendation
New owner,
Looking for good place to service, I have very squeaky breaks.
Also looking for a Factory Bra? Anyone have one for sale?
Anyone interested in a virtually brand new set of tires? My 8 only has 500 miles on it. Reason for selling,I'm not a big Bridgestone fan.
Regards
