Doug,
I've tried your cell a few times now but it just keeps ringing with no answer and no v-mail.
I would like to still meet up to hear the exhaust but I have a bit of a problem. Last Thurs. I reinjured my back (bulging disks) and after a brief two day stay at the hospital, have been in a bed ever since. I'll be resting at home all week if you get some additional free time......and you've got nothing else to do. I live about 15 minutes from where you are staying. I'll try and contact you again later.

Success,
Sorry I missed your call. I have the phone on me all of the time except for the two minutes I filled the car up with gas. I saw I missed a couple calls. Sorry to hear about your back. I was out driving around campus tonight. Very nice City you have here. I hate saying that being a Purdue grad. Send me an email with directions and I'll stop by in the evening. dwspaniol@yahoo.com. Let me know what day is best. Who has the Shinka that I was messing with on rt33? later,
Doug

I heard a bunch of you stopped by on the 30th. I'm new on the board here, at least regionally. I have the black #77 STU 8 that had 17" Enkei's on it. I think I was running before you all showed up though.
We're out at Cooper Stadium again this weekend for a Test N Tune on Sat. and a big Ohio SCCA Regional Challenge on Sunday and as usual I'll be there, but only running on Sunday.
I'm a little burned out on racing right now. I'm the SCCA RallyCross Chairman and we just held our first event on the 6th. I've been racing for 4 weekends straight and my first weekend off isn't until June 24!

One (Silver) is from Cincy who has family in town and the Velo Red one is a new local guy to our events. They're both running Stock. Only reason I'm not is there was no one in BS for the last few years and I like the challenge of running down the Evo and STI's in Street Touring.
My car is Stock eligible since all I have are Koni adjustables. I run in ST because of the wheels.

What's up guys! I'm glad to see a good turnout at the lunch meet. Thanks for the pics all. Can't wait until the next get together.
On a seperate note, just got back from Mazdadirect. Saw quite a few 8s in there. I guess one is getting it's engine replaced? Car was in for an alignment (for lower suspension), and new brake tsb. Unfortunately, they couldn't adjust camber and caster to spec, was only able to do the toe. Got charged nothing as a result. Anyone with lowered suspension care to share where they went in for an alignment?
Cheers!

Mine was there too to have the summer tires put back on (it's about time!) and to have the brake squeal and 6k rpm buzz sound fixed (which for some reason they couldn't reproduce and therefore didn't fix)

the website is a bit vague, have you called them? is this an instructor led class or just open track time. four 20 min sessions dont seem like much. do you have to pay for a membership in addition to the $150 for friday or is it all included?

$40/year NASA membership. $150 for Friday, guaranteed minumum 4 20 minute runs. Instructor or not, depending on experience. I'm a noob, so I'll start with an instructor. When you & the instructor are comfortable, you can move up to solo runs.
The only other thing you need is a helmet, if you don't already have one. Snell SA 98 certification or better.

4-20min sessions doesn't seem like much until you go out and do it! that's typical of HPDE's just about anywhere. for MO, $150 is downright cheap!

I just went to the site. Are we HPDE 1, 2, 3, 4? Where can I go buy a helmet?
I want to do this so any help will be appreciated.

In my case, HPDE1, as I have no track experience.
As for a helmet, this (or something similar) would be my suggestion:
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
I've done a fair bit of research, and I am convinced that a closed-face helmet is the way to go. Yeah, it's hot, but it keeps stuff that might be kicked up on the track from whacking you in the face!
Hope this help. PM me and we can exchange phone numbers if you want to talk about it. Or, it's going to be a hot weekend - might need some ice cream!
