id say the stock tires on the 5 should be ok. people in chi have all seasons on the 8, im pretty sure the 5 can handle the few inches we get here

edit: btw, are you kicking yourself for not waiting for the cx7?

I'm gonna hold out as long as I can, but probably a swap over Thanksgiving.

Anthony - The 5 should be fine in all seasons, but would definitely benefit from winter tires. I'd say if you can swing it, do it.

I bought the tix to the OSU game this weekend so winter tires are out of the question for now. The tix were wife approved, so I'm in the clear.

Well I just dropped off my car at TruePerformance for the hail damage work. They said a minimum of a week but I'm guessing at least 2 weeks. Oh well, at least I was able to borrow a car during this time. I've gotten spoiled with my iPod integration and bluetooth headset integration in my 8.

Z,

All will turn out fine. You are in good hands.

Alpha,

The tix were $1k even. 15yrd line, a third of the way up in 'C' deck (26C). Can't wait!

Hey Zelig! Let me know how it turns out. I'm taking mine in to TruePerformance on the 28th. Looking forward to the infamous Kia Rio rental

Snows now or wait? Forecast for the week is 50ish. Maybe I'll wait and tackle it over the long weekend.

Ra,

Yep that was us. We drove around for 20 mins looking for a place to park. We ended up finding a place in an alley for free. Along with getting upgraded to 2nd row seats behind the Bucks, i'd say it was a pretty good day!!!!!

I put the snows on last night. After this morning's trip in, I'm glad I did! It sure was slick. Saw one guy through the ditch and a fence.

BTW, after getting the Kumhos off and having a good look at them, I'll only get one more summer out of them, which will be a total of about 20,000 miles. Depends on how many track days next year though. It's a good thing they're cheap, because they don't last!

I knew that was you, but almost didn't recognize you with longer hair!

A good day it was! My voice still needs to recover.

My wife just got a Mazda 3, 4-door! We are a Mazda family now...well, plus my winter beater, '97 Nissan Altima.

I have my MS rear diffuser, that will go in to be painted in the next week or so. Still undecided on a front bumper. I'm working on red tinting my taillights. And since the car will be garaged all winter, I'll try to layer as much wax as possible.

I finally purchased an RX-8 and really love it. We will be developing a bunch of upgrades for it including turbo kit, fuel upgrades etc..

In about 2 months we will be moving into our new building which will give us about 3 times the space we have now. Also installing our new Dynojet.

I will let everyone know when we have moved and will have an open house with free dyno pulls.

Are you staying in the same area? Not that I've been able to swing by but you're only about a mile from where I live. When ever I get around to installing some form of a cold air intake I hope to do a few other things to the car as well. Maybe next spring (since cold air wont be a problem for a while around here) when the summer tires go back on.

Speaking of which, anyone still running on summer tires? I am, until next weekend when I finally have some free time to swap them out. Too much travel for work recently.
