I won't be switching them every year. Just this one. My Explorer is in Cleveland being used by my mom for the next few months so I wanted to get something on my 8 that would last probably until November-December. I should have my other back by then if not sooner.

I agree about the 2 vs. 4, seems pretty pointless. I've had good luck with Michelin PilotAlpine PS2. I live in an appartment too and I managed to find room under the ground floor stairwell to store the others when not in use.

Isn't that a little risky? Wouldn't someone be able to take them at any given time?
Park the car and buy a beater, I say. '90-'95 Accord or something of the sorts for a couple grand. Works for some folks anyway.

The average age of people in my building is 70. Besides us, there are just a handful of young people so I have no problem leaving them there. People leave bikes and other stuff there so I'm not too worried.

Hey spideyman44, If you're still interested in some winter wheels I might have a set for you. As soon as the dealership gets my new car I'm going to take off the winter wheels and put the OEMs back on for them. My winter wheels are Kazera KZ-V with Dunlop Winter Sport M3 for tires. They've worked great in the snow this year and in years past. I don't have many miles on these at all. I've also got the TPMS in all of the snow tires. I paid $1600 from tirerack when I got them two winters ago. $900 and they're yours.

I like that thinking - we could make it part of our meet - kind of a scavenger hunt!
Actually, I was thinking of suggesting Speeds, but I see they are closed to relocate. Anybody know where they are going? Almost anything has to be better than where they were.

I recently got a letter from Mazda Direct stating they wanted to buy back my car. I figured, "great, what perfect timing" and went in for an appraisal while I looked at new cars. Who ever the GSM is looked over my car, took it for a spin and then came back with an offer of $13k. They're selling one for $18.6k on the lot with less features than mine. After that slap in the face I refuse to go back there or ever deal with them again. Customer loyalty doesn't really mean anything to them.

That makes me mad to hear that. I had similar experiences myself with other dealerships in town with "customer loyalty". $13k IS an insult and I wouldn't go back either. When I was selling my last gen. 300ZX people were low balling me to the point that I started wearing a cup to the dealerships.
My last experience was back in Dec. '05 when I went to trade my Tahoe in for my now, Expedition. They gave me $2800 for it and then put it on the lot for $9200 or something of the like. I was already mad and then I got irrate. I told my buddy about it and he went to the dealership, knowing what they gave me for it, and offerred them $3200.........and they sold it to him!!!! Then I hated my friend for a short time until I could get over it. The worst part is that he is from Detroit, where he knew someone who wanted one, and turned around and sold it to that guy for $7000!!!!! Can you f-n believe that story?!?! This guy also was the best man at my wedding and we still are best friends but that, at least for a short time, strained things a little.
That is why I think that I'll just start collecting the cars I buy and never sell anything. haha!!

Sorry to disappoint you Brian, those aren't the MS wheels. They're just my Volk GTS. Same manufacturers though!
I had taken my car for recall work and didn't want to risk getting stranded in my summer wheel/tires, so I threw on my winter set up. With them off, I gave it a good detailing.
