Just turned 38 about 2 mos. ago, so I probably have you all beat. Old fart in the hizzouse.

By the way Will, I see you're in Blacklick. I'm just east of you a bit on the far side of Pataskala. Maybe I'll see you buzzing about Broad Street some time.

OMG, by the way...LSU GOES DOWN TO ARKANSAS! Two more losses by teams above us and we're in for the NC! What a bizarre season it's been...

Damn punk kids! This was the year I hit the big 5-0!

It's ok - mentally I'm stuck at 12.

Yep, and watching Mizzou stomp on Kansas! Either way we move up to 3. Need something to happen at the Big 12 championship game next week. WVU is going for sure.

Yeah, I was the world's biggest UCONN fan going into their game with WVU yesterday. Too bad they didn't show up to play. WVU vs. Missouri in the BCS championship game. We go to the Rose Bowl to play USC in their backyard.

LOL - I went to UCONN a bazillion years ago. Back then the fotball program was an afterthought and really, really sucked. Basketball was just coming into its own and soccer was king.

Times change.

Back to MD tomorrow. No CEL yet, but it's back to running on one rotor again.

Oh well, I got 4 weeks out of it.

Bummer Jeff. Was the oxygen sensor the only thing they replaced?

I'm going to have to take mine in soon...I think I'm hearing pinging on acceleration while under load. Subtle marbles in a can/popcorn-popping sounds from the engine compartment. I've been trying to research it here, but haven't found any concrete answers. I have a feeling the dealer will tell me "it's normal". This can't be good.

Ok - that does it. MD goes from poor to absolutely useless!

I show up this morning, they write up my car and then inform me that they don't have any loaner cars! I went off at them, took my keys back and got out of there.

Next stop is Ricart, but I probably need to have the CEL go off first, which shouldn't be long.

Before that though will be a complaint to MNAO. I'm now on a crusade to see if we can get a useful Mazda dealership around these parts. Wouldn't that be nice!

28 today, but i think ra might be younger than me

jeff, that sucks. i had the EXACT same experience with md, except that when i tried to reschedule they told me my problem was normal and they wouldnt work on my car. the new service writer is a condescending dick, there is no nice way to say it. went to ricart, saw cassie and they fixed me up. i wouldnt say they were great, but they worked with me well and i was satisfied

Happy Birthday Brian!

MNAO didn't seem overly excited - here's their response:

"Thanks for contacting Mazda.

I regretted to read that the actions of the dealership may not have lived up to your expectations. Please understand all authorized Mazda dealerships are independently owned and operated businesses. As such, they are solely responsible for the business transactions they make, including repairs and services they perform on vehicles.

Your feedback regarding your experience is important and is valued. Rest assured I have documented your comments regarding Mazda Direct for our corporate record. We continuously evaluate these records as part of our ongoing commitment to provide only the highest quality products and services.

Please contact our customer assistance center at 800-222-5500, option #4. A live representative will be able to assist you. I show the following dealership is located closest to you:

Byers Mazda
2455 Billingsley Rd.
Columbus, OH 43235
614-792-2455

Again, thank you for contacting Mazda."

Another mulligan I guess. And Byers crap attitude was why I went to MD, so I'm not going back there. Guess I'll truck on out to Fred when I can get the CEL to go on.

Happy birthday Brian!

Sorry to hear about the lousy experience Jeff. I've been going to Indian Mound Mazda out in Newark. I'd say thus far my experience has been acceptable, but not stellar. I was a little annoyed by the fact that I asked them to repair the rust appearing on my doorsills under the TSB, to which they responded they "couldn't see it". I was in a hurry at the time and had no time to call them on it...I'll try again when I take it in for these funny noises. I'll be sure to post the experience.

Happy birthday Brian! (you beat me to this world by 2 months!)

That totally sucks Jeff. I hope you have better luck with Fred. It's really too bad you had to resort to him.

Happy belated B-!!

A good friend of mine owns Genji Japanese Steakhouse and there is one close to you on Sawmill Road in front of Home Depot. Just there for my mom's b-day this past Weds. Great food and great entertainment. Ask for the owner, John Scott, tell him that I sent you. See if Savanah or Tommy can take care of the cooking for your party. You won't be disappointed. I take large groups there quite often so I'm fully confident in my recommendation.

Good luck.

I saw something funny earlier..........a lady was driving a RX-8 to deliver pizzas! Could you think of a worse vehicle to drive in that case?!?! Gas mileage? Yikes? It's probably a second job to pay for the car or pay for the darn gas she's using? Crazy!

True, but that's probably the most fun you could have delivering pizzas.

As for restaurants, I'd say perhaps the Spaghetti Warehouse downtown on Broad Street. Been there for years, is a bit of a landmark, and its cheap! Or maybe The Japanese Steakhouse across the street from the convention center? They have the greatest scallops on the planet I think. Or...94th Aero Squadron? Lindey's downtown? Cap City Diner in Gahanna? Buca downtown next to the arena (as suggested by Ra) is also a lot of fun. Just a few of the more unique places that come to mind...

so, for those of you man enough to drive your 8 year round, how did it hold up this week? for those familiar with the area it took me an hour to get from the corner of feder and alton darby to about 1/4 mile up renner wed, but i had no problems driving. i did stupidly back into a driveway to turn around and almost got it stuck, but i was able to coax lindsay out after a few attempts
