I faired pretty well...in the beater. Except when the muffler fell off last night. The 8's been garaged for 2 weeks now.

She's held up surprisingly well so far. Last year I was running on the stock Bridgestones (I know...I know) and had several instances of not being able to get out of my own, shoveled driveway. I recently replaced my wheels/tires and now have Hankook Ventus all the way around...still summer tires. A few instances of the DSC kicking in, but overall it's been damn good. What a difference tires-that-aren't-Potenzas can make. Last year, I actually had to drive my Miata on the worst days.

The Blizzaks are great. I took my wife to work in Dublin, then went home. I took 2 snow days this week as well as Monday (I'm not doing Mondays for the rest of the year), so I worked a grand total of 2 days this week! The bad news is I'm scheduled to work 5 days next week.

Oh well, I'll be off from the 21st through January 1st, so I'll survive.

hey ooksung. the blizzack lm-22 has treated me very well. ive got 18", but 17" will be much cheaper. as always, tirerack had the best price when i got mine, but if pep boys is still doing the buy 3 get the 4th free you might have better luck. you might also pick up a set in the buy/sell/trade forum.

you should look into them too brian, summer tires and snow dont get along!

Hey Ra, are you runnin' 19's or 20's in your thread pic? I'm looking at chrome 20" Neeper Neunzig rims for my summer setup. Staggered fitment 20 x 8.5 fronts and 20 x 10 rears.

I'm running 19x8.5 up front, and 19x9.5 in the rear. You're going for that bling bling look on chrome 20s?

Yeah Yeah Yeah!!

Bling Bang!!

Hey guys, I just am a chrome lover! Do you think the 20's will be overkill?

Also, looking to get the chrome strakes and thinking of black chrome for the front quarter side vents. Chrome strakes on top of black chrome vents. What do you guys think? Will that look good??

personally im not a fan of chrome, especially with such a bright paint job already. and i think 19s are pushing it, but all that really matters is do you like it?

I've only seen 1 set of 20s that I like on the 8, Duval Mazda show car.

More here: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2958255

But this car is strictly for show. On the track, 19+ is overkill.

Thanks!

japanparts.com

They're a vendor on this site. If you sign up with "Thew", he'll hook you up with special Gold Membership discount.

I saw one for sale at that Ford dealership on the corner of Sawmill and Billingsy. I stopped by after picking up the car from Byers, and took a closer look. Whoever fitted the kit did a horrible job because it was gappy all over. I wonder if it was the same one.

Ra,

How do you sign up with "THEW"? Just curious, because Graham on the Japanparts.com thread said there is a 10% discount to all RX-8Club members.

Check out this thread. Looks like they've been a little slow signing people up.

i used to have "gold member" status at mazdaparts, but they redid there website, and since then I've been trying to get back on. I tried again recently and it has been a while. I guess they dont want my business anymore, I wanted to get all weather floor mats, but I found them cheaper anyway at http://www.mazdaparts.org/ (not .com) also free UPS ground.
