I think I'm going to wait on the screens until the holidays. I'm off from Dec. 19 until Jan. 5, so I'll have more time then to sort things out.

Hey all, just wondering when most of you switch to the winter tires around here.
I already bought a set thinking Thanksgiving weekend, but with the forecast for the next 2 weeks having lows near freezing...
I wanna know what some of you are thinking.

For me, I will probably switcch over this weekend. I need to look at my front pads anyway, as with 60,000 miles they are likely shot. Also, had my oil changed today and they claimed my rears are down to 4/32s. Maybe, but it seems like a lot since April 1. I had it aligned when I put them on, so I'm sure that's not the issue. Well, I'll look them over when I get them off.

ill wait until snow is in the forecast. the blizzacks are good, but there is definitely a performance loss

I got the tires changed on both cars. Yeah Brian, the performance sucks.

The pads look good, so I'll leave that alone for a while.

The rears are in rough shape. I'll put them on the front and get through next summer, but I'll have to be careful in the wet by the end of the summer.

Well, I can only change my rims on weekends, since my garage isn't big enough.

Found a nail in my right rear tire Saturday night, so I went ahead and switched to my Winter Sports.

Not much of a performance loss on dry pavement, the ride is a tad harsher.
So far very pleased, hope to be this pleased when the snow hits.

Sorry - the pads are ok. It's the rear tires that are somewhat worn. They'll get through another season on the front.

Just bought a POS for winter. 96 Toyota Camry. Bumming but probably for the best for winter time IMHO.

Take care,

Brian

Gotta love our kids

I buy a beater for winter, it is not a good day to drive due to weather and summer tires. My kid had a flat yesterday. I let he take my beater to work (waitress) so she has money to get a new tire or a used tire. She drops off my car last night on the way out to "party". I take my beater today, she spent her tips partying and blows a gasket on me just now over the phone because I took the beater. I was surprised as my best friend said he would meet her at my place, where her car is, and take the rim with her to get the tire (I, being nice, took it off the car for her yesterday). She blows a gasket again as she wanted to use my car again today as she......blew all her money partying.

I was cold like the day it is, told her she made her decision and that she now has to deal with it. I told her I felt her pain but this is part of life and offered no help.

You gotta love your kid.

Sorry to vent off topic but DAMN .

Brian

They can certainly try your patience! The only time I really go off is when they don't learn the lessons from mistakes I have made. I try not to be too judgemental, as I was much worse at their age than they will ever think of being.

Still - there are days that a 2X4 up side the head seems like a good idea!

It would be better used as an indoor karting track, but thankfully they're gone anyway.

See what lousy customer service does for you...

Jason, I hear you on the garage. I have the OEM Areo kit, I believe is what t is called, being a new nose dam, front and back "mudflaps" and sides. I also have my original side markers blacked out. Looks like all will have to wait until spring as I have no garage .

Winter sucks .

Take care,

Brian
