"When you sell your vehicle just peel it off and taa daa like magic a brand new surface!"
Hmmm...I wonder how easily it'll come off when you clean your car. Would those pressured water cleaners just cause it alll to come off?? I don't know, sounds like a great deal but I'm not sure if I want to be the guinea pig...

Success,
Check it out: http://www.zoomzoomlive.com
Tyler & I are booked for 9:00 Saturday, October 29. It would be nice to get a caravan of Columbus 8 drivers headed there. Should be a good time!

RX8rider....
I think I just saw you (12:15 or so) heading north on niel turning left onto 12th. Silver RX-8.
However, it's a different (middle eastern) guy who has the TiGrey RX-8 I saw there before and who was mentioned in the dispatch article last week. He was listed as a dental student in the dispatch article so I thought it might have been you.

Anyone else from Columbus going up to the Zoom Zoom Live event in Chicago?
Current Plans: Gather on the west side of Columbus morning of Friday 28th October, drive in a group to NW chicago suburbs. Checkin at a hotel to be determined later (one that has breakfast at the hotel). Dinner at Bob Chinn's Crabhouse (great seafood, great steaks).
Saturday morning. Up early and get to the event around 8:15 or so. Huhwha and I are currently signed up for 9AM on Saturday morning.
Saturday night: Dinner somewhere else, still to be determined.
Sunday morning: Caravan back to Columbus.
Myself and my wife will both be going (although she's not gonna drive in the event). I don't know if Huhwha is going alone or not.
I think this would be a blast. Drive Mazda's (instead of yours) RX-8s and MX-5s fast around a race track. Have dinner twice at fine restaurants in one of America's great cities. Enjoy the company of other RX-8 drivers. :-)

I got my son to sign up. He's part of the Mazda family with his '00 Protege :o My wife is too with her '03 Miata SE, but this isn't her type of event
I might try to head back Saturday night, depending on how long the event is. The site doesn't seem too specific about timing. I guess it's early yet.

alright, ive had it with byers b/c of paul liska. long story short, ive been having problems with a false low oil light and its been in 3 or 4 times and they could not reproduce it, so it finally came on today when i was near them on my lunch break and so was going to drop it off (which is what paul wanted me to do,) but obviously needed a loner to get back to work. he talked to tech support he denied me a rental stating that it was 'costing the dealership too much money,' which is bs b/c mazda pays for loners, but i even arranged other transportation and he would not take my car for service. theres a long list of lies hes told me, and ive had enough. frank and ed are awesome, but ed quit b/c of how the place is run.
i finally called mazda na to file a formal complaint and would urge anyone here who has had the displeasure of dealing with paul to do the same. 800.222.5500. the guy i spoke with was lee at x1147 and he was awesome, he told me to call if i had any other problems so im sure he wouldnt mind helping you guys too. mazda direct, here i come!

Sorry to hear that bad report about Byers. I've had some good service at Mazda Direct and also with Ricart. I just took my car to Ricart this afternoon for an engine issue and while I was there, i mentioned the recall. Ralph knew all about it and let me know that they got the parts in to fix the recalled 8's so mine will be fixed by tomorrow. I'll let you guys know how it runs once I get it back.

PS: I also saw a silver eight that was parked in front of the IDG Jewelry store on Hilliard-Rome. However, that one is there every day. Must belong to an employee.

Pissed off at Ricart Service dept!!
Title tells the story. Basically, the engine was bogged down at 6000 rpm in every gear and it wouldn't go beyond that. Even pre-6000, it wasn't pulling nearly as hard as it should. So, I took it to Ricart last Tue. They told me they'd take care of the problem and they'd also take care of the recall issue since they just go the parts. I've been calling them just about every day to see how things are progressing but they have no clue. One whole week went by and nothing got done!! I layed the hammer down when I went there today and told the service dept. guy that they're incompetent and I want my car back NOW! I demanded to kow what was done (or not done) but Mr. service guy says the tech is out and he's not sure. He'll mail it to me he says! So as I start my car, the engine coolant light comes on (and it wasn't like that when I dropped it off. So I go right back, tell him to fill it up right NOW and I'm out of there. Let me tell you, the Kia Rio loaner certainly didn't make my week without the 8 any better. Now, the 8 is having a hard time pulling at any RPM, it basically sucks now. I filed an official complaint w/ MNAO. I'll be getting serviced at Mazda Direct this Thur. so I'll let you guys know how that goes. Anyhow, just wanted to let everyone here know about the Customer noservice dept at Ricart and not to take your car there. So, I'm justifiably quite pissed right now. On a good note, I got the new Valentine v1.8 radar detector and hardwired it so it's real stealth. This thing rocks! Too bad I can't go fast enough to test it out.

No surprise - these are the same lazy fools that didn't bother to flash my car when I bought it. Start out the next day to go to work and throw a cel. I think I hold the record for earliest cel - something like 160 miles on the odo.
Point is, if they bothered caring enough to do their job, I could have avoided the whole thing.

You know, my car actually seems like it got worse since I took it to them. I made sure that MNAO made an official note of this when I spoke to them. It now has trouble accelerating at any speed and rpm all across the band. I've also noticed that the engine cooling fan goes on quite abit more than normal when I shut her down. I'm obviously not engaging in any kind of spirited driving since I can't really take it above 4k rpm. I just want to get this all fixed and be done with it. This is really starting to bum me out. I really hope that MazdaDirect can undo this whole mess
