CT area mechanics?

I [think] I am in the process of buying a newer RX-8 and reading up on some possible mods including a super/turbo charger, etc. However I wonder that any mods (especially a turbo) may violate the Mazda warranty? (E.g., Toyota's TRD supercharger installed by Toyota maintains the complete warranty.)

Regardless I was wondering if there were any reliable mechanics (dealers and/or independents) in the central CT area (I am near Hartford) for routine maintanance and/or mods?

I also wondered about recommendations local dealers for routine things like oil changes, etc. I know of Liberty in Hartford.

From what I read the rotary needs pretty much the same attention as a normal engine.

Thx

the turbo will void your warranty. i don't know of any local mechanics for those types of installs but i'm sure there is someone around. for your regular maintenance i would use partyka in hamden. they have a really big bay and are quality people which is hard to find around here. any light mods and you can find some folks around here to help. just get a meet together and people will show up with tools and beer.

If you're looking for a good dealer, Liberty Mazda in Hartford is awesome...they have 2 (it might actually be 3...can't remember) rotary techs there. They have taken great care of me every time I've had my car there

I did go to Liberty to see a few used RX8s but they were sorta beat up and not what I wanted. The do have that grey 40th anninversay on the floor. They did just move as well to a new location it appears. Good to know they can service the cars and be reliable.

I did chat with Ohara in MA but they sold a 2007 I was interested in. The guy also said Mazda is deeply discounting cars and they have a grey 40th anninversay cut to ~$27k (from ~$35k). Makes me wonder what Liberty may do. Not sure I want new though.

Yeah, I was at their new location a couple weeks ago and they had a couple 09's there...I thought I might like the new body style in person, but they just don't look as nice and the old style in my opinion. That 40th they have is SWEET though.

I highly recommend them if you have any warranty type stuff done there...they take great care of you and know what they are doing with our cars!
