NJ First Rx8

Just picked this car up few weeks ago for 10,700 57000 miles on it. And loving the car.
Cars stock mechanically, electronically that is another story.(yay more wiring)
Ill try to get some pics of the car up but first need to get new rear bumper or body kit which ever i can find cheaper

Im from lumberton ,nj trying to see if there are any local meets around south jersey area.

Since ijust bought the car and have no clue on maintence history. I plan to at least do some basic stuff.
Oil change: done
Coolant change
Coils/Spark Plugs/Wires
I found coils on mazmart for pretty cheap
and sparks are about 20 each no matter where u go.Except at partsgeek.com
i never ordered from them before so wanna ask if there good company or not as there plugs are only about 18 a pop
http://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/200...park_plug.html

and for spark plug wires im kinda confused.
I was looking between all vendor sites here looking at prices of wires trying to find mazda wires but only found on real place to get them.
so my question is will the ngk ZE81 be fine or shoul i just shell out the 70-80 bucks to get the oem mazda ones.
Any advice appreciated.

I just change my spark plugs use NGK from auto zone $20. each but got military discount so $18. But they are already pre gapped. I turned wheels to the right jacked it up and went at the spark plugs. Not hard took me half-n-hour to replace them all. Easy to reach, even easier to remove front driver side tire.NGK Wires you will be fine with, you don't even need to change your wires unless they're frayed. Good luck

yea when went to the dealer to get cat replaced and msp16 done they said code for plugs and wires came up. I planned to do both anyway but ill do coils also just in case. i got the gaper for plugs on my key chain and torque specs off the diy trhead.

just needed to know if which was better for the wires. coils will be stock till at least 100k or 8 year mark which ever comes first(yay extended warranty) and ngk already makes the oem plugs for mazda so no worry's there.

yea but only then the few question i have. i love my car
although love it when the rents automatically think aggressive driving means speeding. Or that if im at 4 grand rpm im driving the car hard.

Ha yeah 4 grand is nothing for an rx-8, and aggressive driving by definition is acting carelessly towards you and anyone else on the road. Driving hard, defensive, or offensive is a different story. I have taken police driving courses and that seems like aggressive driving to me. So it depends how u define it.

order the coils from mazmart htey are the best price, and get the wires from BHR (Black Halo Racing)

if you are willing to spend just under $500 you can get the BHR ignition kit which is absolutly AMAZING! It is a great mod and should always be one of the first to get done to an 8. Really helps the car alot and they say the ocils will last 100k. And charles is a great guy with amazing quality products.
