Way to go! Good luck Kev!
Just don't drink too much coffee at the closing, you'll have to get up to take a leak every time you sign a document!

good job and good luck. i took the plunge a year ago this week and it seems like only yesterday. so many things to do and so little time. of course that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Swear things are getting fishy now all of a sudden with the house. The place that owns it or the guy or someplace (I can't get a straight answer from anyone or rather maybe I can't understand it) says/claims they may foreclose on the house even though we are interested in it.

I told the gf that maybe we should just back out and let them foreclose on it and we'll just go on looking and meanwhile save like well penny pinching rich folks (that we arnt lol). That and I've gotten some gruff since its Sharon which is property tax centeral according to several people who know way more than me about this stuff.

I'll keep you all informed since well I'll need a few of you to help me move haha.. that and well when/if we get this/a place your all invited lol.

If the house is going to foreclose then let it. Then go to the bank or holding co. that has it and chances are you can buy it for less. Good luck man!

Good luck to you and your girlfriend with the house!

May 2006 My boyfriend and I bought our first house... August 2007 we managed to blow it up. Seriously. About 15 or so gallons of gasoline leaked out from an S10 my boyfriend was working on into our garage floor. Long story short I smelled gas in the house and told him something was wrong. We went into the garage to check it out and open the door to vent fumes. About 30 seconds later our hot water heater must have called for hot water, the pilot light lit, and the whole garage blew up... with us in it. We lost everything we ever owned, including his new dodge truck, with the exception of my 8. My 8 was the only material thing I had left but only cause it was parked infront of the truck. So horrible but I remember standing across the street with chunks of skin hanging off asking my boyfriend's brother if there was any way they could push my parked car out of the way lol. I do remember him giving me the "Are you rtarded?!?!?!" look. haha SOO not rational at this point but I love my car. Houses are fun but are a big responsibility. Best of luck to you both!!

Well house went into forclosure so its off the market for the time being.
The house was orginaly listed at 270k, we offered and had it accepted at 230k. The bank bought the house at forclosure for 225k, that is what I'm being told.
Right now we are looking elsewhere. Taking it as a omen really since I started to have a bad feeling about the house. I found out the following day that I wouldnt of been able to build my garage I dreamed of on the property.

Take your time... and follow your gut feelings.
A Man's gotta have a dream garage.

Interesting story.
Glad to hear that everybody got out without really bad injuries.
I probably would have done the same if it were my 8.

Hey Kev, not to bust your bubble or anything....but is the house going to be in you and your gf's name? How serious are you guys?

As someone who is trying to get rid of a house, but can't because of the "other" person.....I'd advise to think that over very carefully.

Well we all got out OK but were hurt pretty bad. We were taken by ambulance to our local trauma center and then were air lifted by helicopter to a burn intensive care unit in center city philadlephia. I spent 1.5 weeks in the Burn ICU and my boyfriend 3 weeks. While in the ICU he had some skin grafts and then after being discharged, had to go back for 8 or so more on his legs. We're doing good now though so thanks.

Not to rain on a parade but be VERY careful when buying a home with a 'significant other'. I'm sure you thought this through, I just couldn't sit with good conscience and not say anything.

2) do you know which bank forclosed on it? PM me the address if you don't mind, I can look to see if it was us. (I'm a VP at the 2nd largest lender in the country)
I can also tell ya if we've got any other foreclosures in the area that you might wanna look at.
