Getting tinted on Saturday. Heard of Blessed?
Anyone have any experience here with Blessed Sound and Security in Great Neck NY? Carlos seems like a nice guy and is always courteous on the phone and in person. Plus he drives way cool T-rex:
Has anyone dealt with him in the past?

Hey- a few questions if you don't mind, I'm in the area and thinking of getting tints myself. How dark are you getting, and how much are they running you? And do you know what the legal limits are in NY state? I'd like to not go out of my way to get pulled over, it's easy enough as it is... And let us know how they come out! Thanks

Heyarnold96 - thanks for the review.
Elysium19 - I'm thinking about getting 40% tints all around plus sunroof (minus front windshield). I fear anything darker will just stick out with cops in the area and by the midtown tunnel. I don't want to get pulled over and freaked out because of my tint. It might heighten my chances of getting pulled over for DUI - JK... Of course I think dark tints look great but they aren't practical for daily driving at night (been there done 5% in the past).
I'm getting charged $175 for the tinting. I think I'm getting a great deal, and hopefully he gets more 8 business in the area after my review to follow.
As far as I know the legal limit in NY is - no tint on the front or front sides. The rest of the windows you can go nuts on.

well nothing darker than 70% tint (glass tint + film combined, so a 70% window film tint can fail your car too) is legal in NY... of course how this law is enforced varies allot
BTW, 35% is darker than 40%.. the % is for light transmission (the lower, the darker)

I got the tint done on Saturday with Blessed. I paid $185 for all windows and the sun roof. The tint is Metallic tint... I'll take pictures and write my final review of the job they did this weekend after I clean up the windows from the install.

Got a ticket? How much and do you have to remove your tint or have evidence that you did?
Are you telling me that cops have tint test kits? And all they do is go out and try to bust people with tints?
