Hello,

My friend has an '05 RX-8 with about 120,000 miles on it and he is having a LOT of problems with it.

It is hard to start when warmed up. It dies frequently and runs rough. Basically the car is a mess.

It is currently at a dealer and they have come up with about 100 things wrong with it, which is making me think they are using the shotgun method of diagnosing the problem.

They have said that 3 of the 4 brand new plugs are bad, the coils are bad. The engine mounts are bad, which is causing the computer to shut down the engine. They replaced the MAF sensor, the throttle body, reflashed the ecu, etc. They said that the compression is slightly low, but they are still recommending he put a new engine in it.

I think he should get a second opinion and was wondering if anyone knew of a good RX-8 mechanic in the Cincinnati, Ohio area that he could take it to.

Where have u been taking it? Kings mazda isn't to bad. But definitely take it to somewhere else sounds like their jerking your chain.
