The Great Mazda Mountain Climb
Hey!
Do you want to know what it feels like to be an eagle soaring through the sky, whirling around mountains and swooping in on your prey? Well too bad!
How about driving corner after corner up the highest mountain in New England with a huge group of other Mazda 6 owners? That we can do!
Get your cars fueled up, your hands on the wheel, and your sphincter nice and toight (like a toiger): we're about to climb a mountain, Mazda Style!
New England Mazda 6's (NEM6) invites you, and your imaginary friends, to the ultimate in Mazda meets. We plan to climb Mount Washington in New Hampshire as a massive group.
The best part is, that if we book a specific day, we'll have the roads ALL TO OURSELVES
Mt. Washington officials offer car clubs to climb the mountain as a group in either the morning or at dusk (cool huh?).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dusk Tour:
Evening Tour: Have the Auto Road all to yourself after hours.
Drive Yourself Tour:
Departure time based on sunset.
Price for the auto road climb is: $26.00 per adult * $13.00 per junior (5-12)
Updated: We have scheduled a date!
Keep Saturday, June 8th open on your calendars!

**Because we have placed our deposit already, those who have paid will have until June 1st to cancel or you will NOT be getting the rest of your money back. All money spent towards the deposit is final, but if you paid, or are paying, before arriving at the base on June 8th, then you have until February 1st to request a refund. Thank you.**
Not convinced yet? Then keep reading and see if it changes your mind.

It can be as simple as picking a date, sending in a deposit to hold the date then arriving here next year.
We can make it more exciting by discussing a BBQ or breakfast or other needs.
The cost for driving the Road as a group either at dawn or sunset (a two hour trip) is $23 per adult, $11.50 per child (5-12) plus a 10% service charge.
There is a minimum of 30 adults or $690. We recently changed our deposit requirement from 50% to 20% making it easier for clubs to reserve a date.
I am here to answer any and all questions you might have.

Can be a bit pricey, but keep an eye on their site as they often run specials. Excellent place to stay though. Have stayed 3 or 4 times and it has been top notch every time.
Green Granite Inn, a North Conway Hotel
Stayed here once when the above hotel was full. Not bad, but not as nice as ^^^. Perfectly acceptable accommodations, just not as nice.
The Seasons Condominium Resort - Affordable Family Resort in Mt.Washington Valley
This is condo resort and could be an unbeatable value if some want to travel as a group. They are all individually owned so your mileage may vary, but the unit we stayed in was great except for the limited supply of hot water. (If you don't take 3 showers back-to-back it was fine.) The clubhouse/gameroom/indoor pool area is a bit dated but everything was functional when we went last December. Rates of 130/night for a 2-bedroom becomes very easy to swallow when you start dividing it up. And you get the option of bringing your own food if you don't want to eat out. It's north of North Conway, but actually puts you a bit closer to the Auto Road (23 vs. 34 minutes according to GoogleMaps)
North Conway is THE place to kill time in the off hours as there's lots of restaurants, shopping, and other activities. It's not too far from the base of the Auto Road and the drive between the two is nice. Someone mentioned Mount Washington Cog Railway - Climb to the Top of Mount Washington on the world's first mountain-climbing Cog Railway trains! and I will just chime in with this: EXPENSIVE! Priced to match the steep grade of the Jacob's ladder trestle (300' long at a grade of 37.41%) at $62 per adult. Don't get me wrong it's a good once-in-a-lifetime trip, but it is on the other side of the mountain from where most will be staying (55 minutes) and I didn't want to have someone drive all that way only to have a coronary due to sticker shock.
The auto road is a really sweet drive. Let's just pray for clear skies (the summit is in the clouds 60% of the time) and light winds (hurricane force winds occur roughly 33% of the time).
