I get better gas mileage than that practically racing the car. Something on your car is borked. You have to drive with your foot almost on the floor to get that kind of mileage. Are you towing a boat you don't know about?

A thought - get your o2 sensor checked - if it is faulty it could cause this problem .
Same with the MAF sensor .

If you get your AFR's checked on a dyno it will tell you if you are in the same range as other 8s.

Nope no boat and I have nothing in the trunk that would litteraly cause the car to be strained on moving. I've mentioned the bad gas mileage to my service rep and he just shrugs it off stating everyone gets bad milage with our car. After I get a battery cover/case replaced going to be taking my baby somewhere else to have her looked at.

Today while waiting at a light felt like my engine was gonna shake itself loose outa my car. I'd mention it to this dealer but I know they'll tell me "Kevin.. all engines shake...." trust me they are that I dunno what word I wanna use right here.

Its well documented that this dealer is inept(sp?) just SUCKS that they are sooo close to me ('bout a mile away).

Wish I had RotaryGods knowhow so I could figure this out myself. I felt with research it was my CAT causing the major downfall in my milage but since this has been replaced and my milage has only slightly improved I'm lost. I've been driving in full triptronic mode and rpm's are usualy kept around 3-4k. Most of the way to work is in 2nd and around 3.2k rpm's meaning 35mph. I do hit Route 1 every so often where I do floor it if you will and I hardly see 4th if I do its because I know I am not gonna be needing that extra pull that 3rd is giving me. Grr back to the drawing board with whats up with my baby.

Well I had just under half a tank today and figured I'd stop by a friends workplace that of Sunoco in Norwood since realizing they have 93 octane hehe.
So I decided to just say screw it and filled my baby up with some good shyt. Got my reciept and came home after talking to the girl for a bit.

67.2miles on the odometer
11.3miles before my battery bay was replaced. (battery being taken out reset trip milage)
8.535gallons of gas

Did the math and I was getting 9.197 miles to the gallon. No real hard driving at all. Actually took everything outa my trunk this time around all maybe if I push it 5lb's of it.

Lil'Red if this keeps up till the Spring I might take you up on that offer ya made of your friends that own a rotary shop. Tomorrow going to call up Seaconk Mazda about taking a look at my car (been busy this week with work) about my motor mounts and possibly replacing my right tail light (condensation again lol)

So yeah here is just a few of the pictures I've taken of me cleaning up all this **** today. In the end I need a new filter and a new airbox since I ended up breaking the lower half as it accidently became lodged back in the lower grommet and as I tried to get the piece out it just broke Anyone know someone that recently installed a cold air intake that would be willing to part with the lower portion of their airbox for cheap or free Well hopefully after this my mileage will increase..
Overall I'm kinda proud of myself for taking all this apart (airbox all the way to the

is that oil coming through from the oil filler ventilation line ? Seems odd it is on the filter .

Don't worry about a new airbox unless you have broken through . I broke one of my gromet pins off also which I think is an improvement mod as it makes it so much easier to get the air box out.

I actually broke the lower portion of the airbox. the plastic piece is now ripped off and stuck in the grommet lol. I jsut started a thread in the General Discussion with more pictures. I took a ton of photo's for evidence if you will and possibly for a DIY if people are curious as to how I went about it.

Ahh been awhile since my last post,
Post cleaning the MAF and new Airfilter.
I can't find my other ticket stub for my gas but I got around 9 miles per gallon again which kinda annoyed me But... the last tank I filled up with Ultra Sunoco figuring it might help clean out the engine a bit. I did 50/50 driving city and highway as I drove up to NH to visit a friend. On the way home I didnt realize were my tank was at (still kicking myself 'cause of that) so I sucked it up and used cruise control at 65mph. Was strange seeing car's pass me and not caring. Eventually the yellow light of doom came on and I was scanning the highway signs for a gas station sign and finally I came upon one. Filled her up using Exxon 89 (gas price's in whateva town it was were way to damn high like 2.60 for 91.

Anyways here is what I got.
200.7 miles
13.211 gallons of gas
For a nice avg of 15.19 miles per gallon.

That made me smile a little bit the first half of the tank was all city driving mind you and the second half was all highway. Again the last quarter was all on cruise at 65mph.
