I actually had another question. Does the Bose sound system come with the GT package? I found an RX8 GT for a damn good deal with factory warranty but it doesn't state if it has the Bose or not.

About to find out, just bought my RX8 today...
...I'm thinking it won't be too bad, though - I've been driving a 95 Mustang convertible on 50% wear summer tires for the last two years and have been quite alright in the snow and ice.

my battery died in the grocery parking lot today.

so i didn't drive my car for about 3 days because of the snow. this afternoon i was planning to stop by the grocery before i went off to pick up some things. so i warmed up the car for 5 to 10 mins then drove to the grocery which was less than 2 miles away. i bought whatever i needed and next thing i know the lights on the dashboard don't turn on when i put the key in and the ignition wouldnt start. i took the keys out and pressed the unlock and lock buttons on the key but they didn't work so i knew it was the battery. i called up a couple friends but they were all out and really far away. soo i ended up calling roadside assistance. stupid cold weather. and i need a new battery.

i hope that made sense.

i got a set of blizzak lm-22 on 17 inch rims. These things are awesome. I have been out in every snow storm this year and went autocrossing this past weekend in them. The autocrossing event was basically rally because the parking lot was covered in about 2 inches of ice. The guys will all seasons were getting stuck in the paddock area i was doing just fine. On the street they have been just awesome. I always think "hey i'm in a rwd sports car and that fwd sedan can't make it up this hill."

Plus even though it doesn't handle like the summers do it still it is still fun in the dry. definitely recommended.

I've been pretty much okay for the most part this winter. I have the GT model with the traction control and limited slip. I am running on stock 17" wheels from our 350Z with Blizzaks. Perfect set up for me so far. Of course it's RWD, and has it's problems when it's slick but not as bad as some as the other RWD vehicles that I have driven during the winter. (Mustang, F-150, and S-10) I think it's better than my ice skate of a Toyota Celica. God that thing was aweful. I got stuck everywhere, couldn't get up hills, slid the second I hit the brakes... Bleh!

With snow tires (Pirelli snowsports) I've had no problem driving in the snow, as long as it isn't so deep as to cause clearance issues. DSC/TCS has been pretty good in the snow too.

It looks like the whole winter thing has been taken care of. I'm not too worried about it anymore. The only other aspect I'm questioning is whether or not I can live with the RX8 for at least 3-4 years. That's about how long I'll probably have the car for. My Accord got 20/23 so the RX8s 18/24 really doesn't bother me that much, so gas is doable. The question is, the factory warranty on an RX8 that I end up purchasing will be almost gone, how much will maintenance be an issue without the warranty in tact?

Wow, are you serious? What am I looking at? If the gas mileage was going to be about the same as my Accord I really didn't care but if it's going to be like big V8 in terms of mpg, I might reconsider.

Each Car is different. Myself I'm on the low end of the spectrum for mileage per gallon. I'm a 8/16 mpg car were as others are 15/20 give or take.

expect 18/20, if you drive it w/o a lead foot, 16.5/19 with a lead foot, or worse with an even heavier foot.

8/16... wtf dude, is something wrong with your car? How is your gas mileage that awful? That's beyond awful. You're entering an mpg area that hummers get.

Most of my driving is going to be city with occasional highway trips every couple weeks to go see my girlfriend at school. I don't understand how someone could pull of 8/16 though.

its a rotary not a hybrid....its also a sportscar....if mileage and winter really concern you i suggest something more practical....be honest with yourself and go in with open eyes....the car requires regular maintenance, consumes oil, and has quirks....if you can overcome them then fine.....it will be a great fun car....but if you want a corolla then get that

My car is special lol... haha.. I've brought it up to my dealer and they say its normal but whateva.. I drive her hard and have alot of short trips but I think it still has something to do with the ECU flash I used to get on avg 14mpg when I first got the car then after the recall flash I started to get 10-8mpg tanks. My last tank (filled up today) I got 10.02mpg.

I got your email by the way, sorry I didn't respond. Insurance checks out ok with the car, I just have to check out my options right now, I hope you understand. As for the mileage, I guess it doesn't bother me that much, as long as I'm not getting 8/16
