I Saw You - spotted in Rhode Island- thread
I couldn't seem to find a spotted thread in Rhode Island but I see plenty of 8's in my area so why not..
I saw a VR 8 in Smithfield thursday night parked in a lot with a girl in the driver's seat around 7:00.

Saw 2 silver's last week. Since they were both silver, is it surprising that both were in, um, unlucky looking situations?
SS on 114 in Riverside (heading toward Barrington) pulled over by the fuzz.
SS on the right shoulder w/hazards on at the very beginning of RT 6. (seen several times on Atwood b4 - NH plates and stickers trunk *gasp*)

Hey - an actual confirmed "it was me" in the RI spotted thread!!
It was me - I picked you up on the S curves at the start of 195 and Gdammit it was hard work catching up to you thru all the traffic.
Taking exit 7 (I live in Barrington) and just barely got to make it up to your side b4 the exit. Love that winning blue!! Came sooo close to buying WB . . .
My GF told me I was crazy when I told her I saw an 8, caught up to it and waved. She asked if the driver looked at me like I was insane. bwahahahahaha!!
Not up for the Cape Run?

Yeah, I saw you wave back w/a similar grin - a mix of "sweet - another 8" and "WTF is wrong with these idiots who can't find their way out of the passing lane??!!"

Just a heads up. I am picking up my dream, manual Whitewater Pearl 2005 RX-8 w/GT and appearance package from Ohio in 2 weeks. I live along the 6-10 connector, and work in Woonsocket.
...which incidently, there is another RX-8 owner at the same building, titanium grey, New Jersey tags, he is there every day for nearly 2 years now. Probably the same one mentioned as spotted above.

Depending on your commute times, you'll probably see me, too. 195 --> 10 --> 6 -->295 every morning @ 8.30 (ish)
welcome to the club!
but why Ohio?

spotted a VR on Plainfield pike at lunch time - passed me going the opposite direction (out to scituate/smithfield Northern RI way) w/sunroof. Probably the same one that's been spotted in the Smithfield area b4; was a woman driver w/curly hair. She waved, I waved.

I have been looking for an RX-8 to buy for about 2 years, and seriously for the last 3 months. I have been extremely strict in my requirements (2005+, Whitewater Pearl, GT package/trim, appearance package, prior owner must have loved it, etc...). I wanted to make sure that once I bought one, I was perfectly happy with it, and not wishing I had 'gotten that other one'. And I also wanted to make sure I wasn't just inheriting someone else's 'problem', since if they didn't like it, they probably didn't know how to take care of it right.
About 2 weeks ago I found one in Ohio that fit all the criteria. Exact options I wanted down to the last detail, within my price range, and 8,600 miles. The low price and mileage set me off at first, but did some digging, and it's low mileage was proved to be due to delivery to the original dealer in Sept of 2004, and not sold until August of 2006, nearly 2 years. Then the previous owner bought it on a deal as one of his toys, had it for 3 months then decided to flesh out his Mercedes collection more. The low price is due to his having been a heavy smoker, which apparently drops several thousand off the retail price in Ohio, and doesn't bother me one bit.
So the deal is sealed, and I pick it up and drive it back on the tail end of a company paid business trip out there next week, instead of flying home.
Sorry for the ramble, but you asked

gotcha. should be a fun ride home for you!
You should probably keep an eye on the weather reports for any super cold or snow along your route home. The stock tires are no good for winter conditions. (in case you hadn't seen any threads/info on winter vs. summer tires)

hi guys, figured this would be a good place to make my first post. i just bought an 04 titanium grey 6sp manual. i've wanted one of these cars for a very long time. i found it on autotrader.com for a decent price. it had the latest reflash done and runs awsome. so if anyone sees me give me a wave or pull me over. i'm a bonafied car nut. i've had all kinds of rides...most recently a mid 10 sec buick grand national thats for sale. anyways i live in riverside near DD. thanks for having me!
