I want to get tint! Live in Chester Springs (NW of philly)

So I have been doing research into getting my 8 tinted, but I can't find a place for a price that I like... I have found a couple places for around $250 with lifetime warranty's, but I feel like there are cheaper places out there that offer the same quality and warranty. I like in Chester Springs which is about 40 minutes NW of Philly... Does anyone know of any places in the area?? I don't mind driving a little...

Do your homework on the tint shop first! Watch them do other cars, what material they use, what kinds of warrantys & guarantees they offer ON PAPER!
1) on our cars, the rear window is shaped funny--harder to tint, need skills to do it right!
2) There is no do overs for the rear window! There is the radio antenna & defroster on the INSIDE of the glass, not sandwiched between the glass but exposed on the inside! Once tint goes on, you CANNOT scrape/peel it off fore it will REMOVE your antenna/defroster!
3) Check the laws in your state...
4) Compare prices to save money, but a GOOD tint job really is worth the extra $$$ than having to buy a new window due to incompetence...

2 cents. Post pics once you've decided?

I would still love to hear some feedback on good places with good prices...

But also... anyone else with tint from PA could help me... I have a BB and am thinking about 35% on the front and 20% everywhere else or just 35% everywhere to avoid any risk of 20%... what do you all think??

75% of states have more or less the same tint laws:
anything on the rear sides and back windshield.
no tint on the front sides or windshield below the 6" brow

Also, in general, unless your area has issues with teenage jerkoffs, they generally don't pull you over for tint. They will pull you over for speeding and then give you a tint ticket, but I haven't been pulled over in 6 months since buying the car.

So I've been studying the PA Tint Laws... It looks like 70% has to be let in all over... but I also hear that as long as it's not TOO dark, then they mostly won't bother you... I swear I see cars driving around PA (mostly SUVS) with darker tint (close to 5-20%) on the rear windows and back... Even in my Expedition...

What about inspections though?? Does PA check for tint in state inspections? My girlfriend lives in Delaware and they only inspect older cars every 3 years and newer cars every 5 years...

yes or remove the front driver side and passenger side tint (it is illegal to have any tint at all on the front two power windows.) the rest is fine (back to windows and rear windshield.)

inspections for motor vehicles in PA is done at a garage with a license or certification from the state. usually you can slip the inspector a few bucks (as long as you can find a guy that is susceptable to the allmighty dollar) to look the other way. also, inspections in PA are yearly. with tint in PA, my understanding is that it is technically illegal to tint any window in a vehicle if it is newer than 1997 (i could be wrong on that)

In Delaware, inspections are every 1 or 2 years (depends on what you decide to pay for at time of inspection) except on new or newer vehicles, which can be for up to 5 years, based on date of purchase or model year. Ie, i bought my 8 last year, which is an 04, and have my vehicle tagged until 09. if i were to buy an 07 vehicle tomorrow, the tag would expire in dec of 11. tint laws here are anything you want on back window and back sides, with nothing on the front doors unless you have a tint waiver from your eye doctor.

Hey bro I am going to tell you that in philly the police don't really hassle you on tint and dropping dimes on the shop that I had mine done at. look up Good Vibrations on Rt. 611. It is on Easton Rd. north off the Willow Grove exit on from the turnpike, they are the ones that did my car about a year ago and let me tell you that they did a great job with my tint and if you want testimony ask Chrism or anybody who has seen the BATMOBILE. The thing is that there is the price and then there is the cash price and there is the paperwork tint and then there is the customer is always right tint you know. Basically the guys at this shop are mad cool and I talk with them all the time and they have known me for years now seeing I use to be up there all the time with my 95 eclipse GSX before I sold it to the owner of the shop about 10 months ago. they tinted all my windows at like 15% for 120.00. they are cool and will work with you on the price and cash is always king if you want any help in this matter don't be afraid to PM me and I will see if I can help.
GOOD LUCK and never fear the MAN when it comes to style
