May sounds good to me. Your not a buzz kill. To many times good events turn bad because of careless driving. I had a hookup at an old airport, that let us do top speed runs. But People didn't want to follow the rules, and shut us down. Ya it really sucked.

anyone on Protege/6 Club, please post this up with them too. They showed up to AltSpace's Cape Cod run, and seemed to be a great crowd.

First weekend in may sounds perfect, the car will be out of storage and ready to go.

And I think that you're completely right about making this a safe cruise, especially with a lot of people because once one person starts flying around, more will follow and it will lead to something stupid happening so I would stress that fact on the other forums you post this on as well. I'm looking to go on the cruise to simply CRUISE, not recklessly drive everywhere. You are not a buzz kill or a poon, anyone not liking the idea of a safe cruise can just not come and go on their own time. Good point to bring up RotaryAmuse.

Awesome, hopefully I'll make it up. I live down in MD now but that's not too far from where I grew up.

Cool. I am a definite maybe!

Only b/c I really have no idea where I will be financially at that point. The missus is out of work and unemployment will be running out right around May. Obviously money will be on lockdown for the time being.

Hopefully we can work out a mini vacation, but who the hell knows . . .

Not the same highway because the highway for this run hasn't been chosen yet!

Not sure if this run is going to take place. Seems as though interest has died off and people are getting rid of their cars or tragically wrecking them (RIP Clavius' 8).

I am headed south to the DGRR cause I won't be around for the Brotherhood of the Dragon.

Also attending Lime Rock May 23rd for the KONI race. Anyone else going to that or know if there is a Mazda Corral?

Im down for the Kanc! I live in NH and have been over it many many times.

Take Kanc.. from Lincon, NH to N.Conway, then 302/16 North through N.Conway then just outside as your exiting N. Conway you'll reach a suburb called INTERVALE (just after you pass the Catherdral Ledge on left).
You'll make a right from RT302/16N onto Hurrican Mt road and follow over the top of the mountain then down the backside.
Bear left at the bottom of this road and follow North to Rt 113B, leading into Rt113, passing over the Maine border through the "Evan's Notch" then take a left onto RT2 west (the same road we were on in the Aug Rally), then another left onto RT16 south past the Mt. Washington Auto Road, which will lead you back to N. Conway
..you'll thank me later : )

ABSOLUTELY DO THIS! Route 16 in N. Conway is generally a frickin parking lot most of the good driving season. Highly recommended. You might even want to take a trip up the Mt. Washington Auto Road. (warning make sure your clutch and brakes are in good shape) Do not attempt this if you don't like driving your car up the side of a mountain with no guardrails and a 6000ft drop on your passenger side while you drive up.

I have been up MT Washington with my 98 Grand Cherokee jacked up 6 inches. Even freakier in that type of rig!

By the way everyone,

I am technically the President of the New England Rotary Club. This club never got its official start, but I am acknowleged by Mazda as a club and can get some goodies.

Actually I just submitted 09's paperwork this morning.

I will definitely try and make this!

Yes there will be a corral. Marlon has brought Mazda into the events with The Grand Am Experience for Mazda Owners. They are trying to make every Grand-am race this season and Lime Rock will for sure be one of them. Next Gread-am race is in April at VIR and we are trying to get as many Mazda owners as we can. There is a sub forum in the Regional Forum about it. Check it out!

Man, I still would prefer an overnight type of run like we did in 07. But it's going to be tough. Last summer it was $4 + per gallon killing all the fun, this year it's a crapped out economy and job loss. WTF???

I'll meet in Worcester. It's only an extra few minutes to head there first, and probably a wash time-wise since my route would be 93 straight through Boston.

It all depends on how things work out for me. I will be at VIR the week before so it might not look good for me. If thinks change I'll let ya know.

Amuse,

I can work on coming up with a route... Since most everyone is coming from the south we should meet in southern NH, Near Lake Winnipesaukee.

Can someone work on finding a CHEAP motel in the northern portion of NH?

I'm thinking $50/night.

Woodstock and N. Woodstock have a bunch of pretty inexpensive motels.
