NH

Thanks Bob!

I posted on that thread.

So anyway,

Anyone interested in forming an official NEW ENGLAND ROTARY CLUB?

Like I said, MNAO does recognize this as an official club but I think I am the only member. LOL...

I would be willing to have a friend of mine design some decals, maybe t Shirts and we could get some other stuff rollin....

Please let me know.

When I say New England, I think that NH, VT, ME, MA, CT and RI would qualify. As well as all Rotary owners. This would not be an "8" only club.

I;m pretty good at organizing events, just need to see how people are feeling about it.

Please PM me if interested. Thanks!

Check with Jason (rotaryrocket7), he runs the New York Rotary assoc. He also got the CT. one started and John (john64) is President of that one. They are great guys and really know how to put together things.

Can someone work on finding a CHEAP motel in the northern portion of NH?

I'm thinking $50/night.

theres a park and ride right off of exit 20 in tilton nh, about half mile from the 93-North on ramp. we could meet there and jump on the highway from there.... just an idea for the central/southern nh people.

count me in btw

im looking into getting some t-shirts printed up for the event. depending on how many people are interested in them, they will be about $20 per shirt.

here's what i came up with so far:

what do you guys think? i will set up a PayPal account for those interested in buying one as soon as i settle on a design and get them printed.

if you would be interested in one, please post your t-shirt size.

Nice. I like the shirt. XL please.

I think the lettering on the back would look better if it were all centered.

Maybe do the road between the words ---

Where
White Knuckle Driving
Meets The
~~~~~~~~~~
White Mountains
or
Where
Why get a motel or a hotel? Weather permitting, there are camp grounds off of the kanc, if you like camping its a win win. Everyone can get there own site or split it up with people and we can wonder around and make a get together spot were you could BBQ all night, drink, have a fire. IMO, thats better than a hotel any day. Almost forgot, Cathedral Ledge is cool at night. Driveup the mountain and go chill on the overlook. Could be a fun with a group.
I just have to convince my GF to go now lol.
ill try that design DMC.
i thought camping would be a good idea, as long as the road to get to the campsite are not dirt or off road. my car's pretty low, as im sure some of yours are too.
jmc- my g/fs going too, so let her know she wont be the only girl.
Will do guys.
I will work on route and NERC.
I know my girls (girlfriend and daughter will be going) but tough for me to pack enough camping gear for three peeps (12 yo girl) into the 8. Plus I know my girlfriend will be too cold.
I tried to get her to camp for Memorial Day weekend at LRP and she won't.
Its hotel for me boys and girls.
She's a pretty little princess... Cosmetologist by trade. She does like to camp as long as its 75 plus. LOL
Camping works for me. My wife flatly refused to "go up there just to drive around some roads" so I will be solo
HAHA. I'm in the same boat, except I need to convince her to not be pissy if I go by myself.
DRKSYDE, I'm sure some liquor and your imagination can keep her warm lol. Who knows, maybe it will be 75 in May. I wonder if there are any shacks up there you can rent and people can sleep where they fall lol.
Yeah well nice thing about my gf is that I don't need the liquor to warm her up. She has told me that she wont camp.
Oh well.
On a different note... My car is at Synaptic3 right now getting the new ACT Clutch and PRO Lite Flywheel installed. I pick it up Sunday.
Found this tonight while working on the route. Might be able to get a further discount.
Google Franconia Notch Motel if the link doesn't work.
Well I started working on the route last night. Found some cool and what look to be twisty roads winding through the Lake Winnipasaukee area and then back west toward 93 and up to Lincoln.
I figure we overnight in Lincoln and then do the Kanc the second day with a trip over Hurricane mountain (no clue what that roads condition is) as this is a new road to me as well. I have tried to avoid traffic as much as possible and took us through Conway through side roads and avoided 16 all together. However, if anyone is interested in staying on 16 to do a little parade then that is fine as well. Just give me an idea what peeps are thinkin.
I'll hopefully release the route DRAFT tonight and will be looking for feedback.
So, my GF is refusing to go saying it is dumb and pointless to drive a couple hours to NH to drive around with people we don't know. She finished her rant with "Go by yourself, Have fun." I said, "Sweet, its May 2nd" IDK if she thought I was kidding, but as of right now, I'm there lol.
My fiancee though about the same but gave it a try anyway. She enjoyed it, but would have liked to stop and do whatever she wanted along the way.
For the most part she says have fun now and I go solo. I'm glad she gave it a whirl, and she probably enjoys a day to herself now when I head out.
Hmmmm, gives me an idea. I should just aggrivate the hell out of my GF for a few days before the trip. Then she will be glad I am gone for two days lol. Maybe, just maybe it will work. Either that or buy her flowers, bring her out to dinner and buy her Sims3 and she might not care if I go then lol.
