Anyway, I now see a black one always parked on campus, so including yours and the nordic green that you have seen and the three that I have spotted plus mine makes that more than five rx-8s on campus. Not bad haha..

Ive had my car for over 5 years now, and ive worked on, broken, fixed, upgraded, downgraded, tinkered with, etc most of the parts on it. If you have any questions, or could use a hand with anything from a local, you let me know...

I'm far from being a DIY expert, but I could also lend a hand if you ever need a noobie around for some basic help.

Hey Guys I have a big favor to ask. I have the BHR coils and never have had a problem with them but just recently my car has been having problems under heavy load. It starts breaking up? It drives fine normal around town and highway but any lets get the parted started type of driving will result in the engine breaking up. I've PM'd a couple of guys about this and they all seem to think its ignition. I just bought new wires and plugs from Charles to see if it was that but nothing. Is there anyone who might have a set of OEM coils laying around so that I can test the car with them to rule out the BHR coils? I can't seem to find mine. Thanks

High RPM issues....think ignition (good job) or possibly cat (is yours stock? mileage?) and also maybe spark plugs if they are quite old.

Yea I'm almost positive at this point its ignition. I'm good up to about 2.5psi before it breaks up if i'm less than 50% throttle but any more throttle position or more boost and it breaks up. I'm sending them back to Charles to get the coils replaced but I won't have a car and If someone does have it, it will save me and verify my thoughts.

Anyone know a good place around the island for fixing rims up? 7+ years of scuffs, dings, chips I feel like touching up. Not just for my 8, but could be useful for other cars as well.

Place for rims - YES. Go to Al's Hubcaps in Mineola on Jerico tpke. It sounds lame, and the place is a shithole, but Al is ridiculous nice, very honest, and does great work. For expensive rims, he's the place to go to. Keep in mind that for most shitty/cheap rims, doing a repair often isn't cost effective. But for expensive rims, he's the man.
I've never had a bent rim, but he's done a bunch of other small jobs for me, always great.
Plus I have a bummper sticker from there that says "I got my rim job from Al's Hubcaps!" hahahahaha

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll definitely check him out.
And as for the price of the rims, I am more asking for the Carrera than I am for my 8. I grazed a rim the other day by some act of black magic, and I'd like to fix it up before my older brother murders me.
What do a set of stock rx-8 rims go for these days anyway? I've really beat mine to hell.
