I'm not that in tune with suspension specifics. But putting on new suspension requires a instrument of some sort to place the distribution weight correctly? If so do u have it andrew?

he will need 4 scales one put under each wheel to set it right. Slimjimrx8 are you looking for a set of coilovers?

My understanding is that corner weighting is really not necessary unless you're precisely setting up a full coilover system and/or changing the ride height a lot. Also, cross-weighting isn't even possible unless you have a coilover system that has adjustible height. And every time I put something in my trunk it would mess up any tuned static weight distribution. I'm just installing shocks+springs (tokico's and RB's) and then getting a wheel alignment, no biggie.

It's true that changing the ride height will differentially alter the weight of the car. But my setup will only lower the car ~0.5". My plan: after installing the shocks/springs, all I'm going to do is let the car settle (with a driver in the seat) before tightening the A-arm bolts. Maybe not an ideal racing weight or height distribution, but certainly just as good as how the car is weighted from the factory.

My best reassurance is reading about all the people on the forums who have installed this stuff who have done WAY less reading about it, and it still turned out OK. I'm not too worried...

The truth is that 90% of rx8 owners who buy coilovers understand enough about them to take advantage of how they can make the car better. Lots of people just think they are a way to combine shocks and springs and lower your car, when really it's a lot more than that. Unless you're a really hardcore track racer, coilover's usually just give people more headaches and bills than benefits...

Oh and here's a good intro on the topic:

i like the shift ****. feels good (no homo). i got a lil sad drivin home cause it was rattling like a bitch but i got home and tightened the screw in the center of it and its nice and solid now. thanks again man i owe you.

and that syncrosaver thing is pretty cool and anything that helps prevent wear or accidents is good. and it is a little expensive. but i may end up getting it anyways. maybe after my rims and hi flow and exhaust. and my rims are a secret!!!! shhhhhh
