i would come if i had the money. i had some money set aside for a track day this summer. but an electrical short in my computer fried most of it. my fault, i touched it without discharging myself and it was on... -_- $500+ later.

im so pissed. i had really hoped to do a track day this year.

Yeah, I have to see what the weather is like if I'm going to show or not. If there is a bunch of snow out then I will stay comfortably indoors. :P

Blah lame. Oh well, I wouldn't have been able to make it today anyway because I was out at a vineyards for my wife's birthday. Hopefully as the weather gets nicer we can get some larger get togethers. Maybe Dan will have his motor repaired...

Track time at Summit Point, yes.

TrackDaze, not so much.

NJMP @ nearly $700, definitely not so much.

Looking at other options, most sticking with NASA weekends. Had a great time with the racers as well as the track rats, to the point I'm looking at Time Trials by next year, more likely 2011.

Whatever I do, I've got to do it. Age is not in my favor.

Saw ANOTHER 8 heading into Bolling AFB today. That makes....5 by my count, including my own that I've seen on base. Wow.

Anyone here care to check in, or am I just being stalkerish?

Any experience with TrackDaze? After reading their site more carefully, it is free for instructors that take on two students, so they are on-par with other organizations. I may do the May 16-17 event on the Shenandoah with them. I love the "Shen", and so does the RX-8!

Whatever I do, I've got to do it. Age is not in my favor.
Bah! There was a guy in his 70's who used to race with us. Drove a Neon and wasn't fast, but wasn't a hazard either. Finally decided to quit when he got rolled and shoved into a wall at Watkins Glenn by a couple of pesky Miatas.

If you haven't checked them out, look at SCCA PDX (like NASA HPDE) which is coming up April 4. I think I'm probably going to be at the CDC autocross in Bowie that day, but who knows.

There's so much motorsports going on this Summer I'm practically buzzing with anticipation. Something to do almost every weekend from April through November!

No experience with TrackDaze personally, the pricing structure wasn't exactly forthcoming while I was looking at it, hence the complaint about the ~$700 at NJMP (I added in the instructor price).

Age. You've not seen the actuarial tables for someone with my life history. The average life expectancy for a USAF retiree from the A12171 career field, last time I got a glimpse, was 58 years. I'm 53. Granted, I may have an edge on it with three sets of long-lived great grandparents and grandparents who all made it past 80, but the numbers are there.

Enough of that crap. Looks like the repairs went well, nice to see you back in form.

Spotted: BB in Timonium

Brilliant Black with tinted windows, chrome RX-8 plate frames, farmer plates, red calipers, Towson sticker on rear window, parked right in the front lot of my office building in Timonium at this very moment. With that kind of bling, you have to be on this forum...

Hey everyone. If anyone is interested...

My car isn't totalled. I was dissapointed at first but I'm over it and just want my car back... especially after driving the awful rental car for a week. There was a little over 10k$ worth of damage but according to the insurance guy my car would cost them 19k$ to replace which means no total. The frame was damaged but rx-8's are not a unibody frame which I did not know and so they just take that section of frame out and weld a new piece on. I won't get it back for about 2 or 3 more weeks though. I'm still going to trade it in on another one... hopefully by the end of summer. Ideally I'd like to keep it as a daily driver in addition to getting another one but we'll see.

Insurance agent said he'd write me a check for a new subwoofer, too.

I doubt it will happen but maybe I'll have it back in time for sushi.

well that's good news, and i agree with trading it in for another, even if you'll get almost nothing on the trade itself lol

get a 6MT this time?
