Since your moving to the waldorf area its all aggressive drivers and dumbasses. The average speed limit is 20 over. Waldorf is right next to P.G. Prince Georges County where you can get away with murder.. Its kind of a mixture of "rednecks" and "ganstas" in Waldorf. Stay away from the St. Charles mall its a dump and never go alone during night time.

You won't get into an accident if you drive smart. Just brake early and don't drive crazy. People down there are very impatient so if your doing 5-10 over the speed limit they will pass you. So far MD doesnt have many speed cameras so you will be fine in that point but once you go into D.C they will clock you for doing 3 over and send you a ticket.

If you have any more questions about MD just ask us.

I consider myself to be an aggressive driver...but definitely not a dumbass.

Thanks for the tip on the mall haha.... What are you sayin'? I'm a shopaholic? sheesh! jk! But seriously, thank you for directing me away from a potentially bad situation.

I will also try and make the 25th of July meet, but I'll just be getting in to town and hopefully moved in to a house, provided the movers have their heads pulled out of their ***** and deliver my stuff in a timely manner.

That sucks about the cameras clockin you at 3mph over! lol That's some BS!

Have you been to any of the sushi meets yet? There is a crew that comes from PA. You should def check out the sushi thread and get up with your PA peeps to join, if you have not done so already. We would love for you to join the meets. Great times, sexy cars, and good ppl. PM me if you need any help finding the sushi thread or if you have any other questions.

As far as the accident thing... once you realize that drivers around here are doing their best to get you killed and learn to drive defensively as hell you are fine. I've never ever had an accident and I've grown up here. Just expect that they are going to cut you off and slam on their brakes, make sharp unannouced merges, and generally drive like the villan in a bad movie.

He is right about the cameras in DC, I got a ticket from one. No points, just a 60 dollar fine. If you need any help moving in, let us know. I know you could at least get a couple of us to come and help you. Any excuse to meet up with other 8's is good enough of an excuse for me!

Couldn't say it any better. I love MD, but the most of the ppl here do not know how to drive.

Yeah, ironically compared to most of the places I've been I prefer MD drivers simply because while they may be trying to get me killed they are at least moving at a good clip. The only place I prefer is PA because people actually move over from the left lane to let me pass. That and the only uniformed police officer I ever encountered on PA highways was doing 160 in a turbocharged Porsche.

Still though, I don't want to give any of my money to some jackass printing out a ticket and throwing it in the mail lol. I hopefully won't need any help. TMO is suppose to move my shyte, move it in, assemble my stuff back together, etc. But I really appreciate the offer Maybe east coast people aren't so bad afterall?

I can zig ans zag with the best of them. Afterall, San Antonians think Yield means stop....and they certainly don't know how to zipper which has almost gotten me in a few accidents. Crazy drivers trying to kill me though...makes me nervous lol.

Its a different story around here... Marylanders think yeild means go faster and cut people off going 65mph on the highway... You will hate that fact so try and stay in the far left lane and you will be ok. Also watch out for rich white dudes their so freaking dumb and drive like they own everything. The black dudes around your area will ride your ***, drive fast, brake late.. but they will keep traffic moving normally always above 20mph at least in PG (50 mph means 70) on back roads..

One thing you will learn when you live here. You will hate all VA drivers. For some dumbass reason they dont know the rules of the road and just do the dumbest **** possible like cut through 4 lanes of traffic to get to the far left lane to go 40mph in a 65... yea I dont get it.

Left lane....that's my comfort zone anyway.

Is it true about the blinker thing? If you use em, you're inviting people to cut you off? Just curious...

Haha not really. I use my blinkers all the time so when I'm changing lanes or turning the people around me know it. In MD people will cut you off just to cut you off. If you want learn the merging system here in MD go to the Bay Bridge and pay the toll in cash and attempt to drive over on a friday night between 5-7pm. You then will understand how we MD people drive. Its not a fun time and very frustrating. Me and Rory do it everyday..

I'm not a masochist I don't go looking for traffic. My daughter already learned how to "flip the bird" from my lack of patience while driving...

Did you name your 8 Rory?...

HAHA, no I am Rory. Adam and I live on KI so we have to deal with the "bridge" every day. As for the blinkers, use them. I do in every merge/turn I make. It helps cause ppl will occasionally slow down to let you in. But he is right abou VA drivers (no offense to the 8's from VA, you do not apply here) they drive like they are in another country when then get on MD roads. You will be fine, it is not that bad. We are just pointing out the extremes. Just do as we do and stay in the left lane. Life is easier there, ppl will sometimes even move out of your way if you are coming up on them at a good pace. And if they don't, you have the middle lane to use for passing.

My daughter is 5 (6 in August). Of course she'll be with me! Who's going to teach her to to be a sassy, independent, car loving female like her mama? She's with her dad until 15 August, and I'll fly her out then.

One of her infamous phrases (age 2) she spoke while shopping one day was "Come On People, MOVE!" (I can be quite the vocal driver )

Haha teaching your daughter aggressive driving at a young age she'd fit right in here at this state. Its awesome that your teaching your daughter about cars, I think in this day in age the number of females with car knowledge is slowly declining.

How long are you here for in MD? Growing up in MD is always fun we have so many different types of people in this state its crazy. It goes from one extreme to the next. Since were so close to D.C we have politicians and political people, then P.G. is similar to Compton in CA, we have influence from the North such as NY and the South like NC & SC. We have beach boys who are from OC we got rednecks way out near Gathersburg and inbetween. Also you might be able to tell but I think we really dont have a strong accient like the south, bostons/new yorkers, and the texans.

I'm teaching her all kinds of things. MUAHAHAHAHA. I don't leave San Antonio until the 20th and we're driving up (they give me 5 travel days and I'm using them all!) Although, I'm coming up on the 10th (i dont get in until late)...house hunting/securing on the 11th...12th = chill, and then i fly out on the 13th early. I'm actually only guaranteed to be up there for a year...after that, lord only knows. My job for the next year is to go to school. I start on the 24th of August. Its a tough world

I shall be staying away from the politicians. Politics make me cranky. haha!

As far as my baby's name...I figured she was Aurora Blue...so Rory. I couldn't very well name her Bathsheba 3. That's just tacky

Where are you going to school?

And for the name, as I said, you can't go wrong there!!

From the sound of it, you will be settled in and good to go come the 25th. Hope we get to meet you at the meet!!!

I'm going to school on Bolling AFB @ DIA. It's called the National Defense Intelligence College (NDIC - not one of my favorite acronyms).

I'll try and make it to the meet. My dad will be with me. I might drag him along. He's more of a Corvette guy (He has a 1980 L82). He's the one that taught me to love cars. Probably started when I burned my legs on the fantastic vinyl of his Road Runner when i was itty bitty!
