I hate to ask someone of this but does anyone in maryland have a track helmet i can borrow? I need one for track day on Sunday. I purchased one but the size was completely wrong. The helmet was better suited for a child rather than XL it says on the tag.

eh, not to sound like a douche, but i won't let anyone wear my helmet. kind of disgusting in my opinion. sorry! lots of track events have rental helmets tho, i'm pretty sure you can get one at your event.

greg, i know i'm missing out. i have family in from outta town, so i gotta spend time with them. i'll definately hit up the track atleast once this year!!!!

Two words... space herpes... j/k. How much did your helmet cost ya Dan, I want to do a track day sometime this year, and I would prefer to avoid loaner space herpes helmets.

The carbon fiber one looks amazing. Pricy though... I would have to be sure I was going to be doing a lot of track days before buying a $700 hat.

track days aren't fashion shows. just get a helmet to protect your dome piece. i suggest full face because the open face just leaves an opening for the steering wheel and your mouth/nose.

I was thinking more weight than fashion... my buddy got a carbon fiber helmet for his bike after he had major neck surgery and said it was almost weightless compared to his previous helmet. I don't know if its as big a deal when you are inside the car though.

MD NEW Rx8 Club Member

Yo, wat up to everyone. I live in the silver spring MD area. Bought my 05 nordic green 8 about 2 months back. Its automatic and I know I'm probably gona get bagged on for it but I did not find a manual that was close to where I live or with the right price nor mileage. I do plan on swapping to the 6-speed when I have the funds to do so. My dad has a 05 350z MT with to many mods to list but it has been sitting in my garage for about 3 months because we both fell in love with this rx8 and although its slow low end it does keep up with other higher horse powered cars top end. My dad thinks it has a lot of potential. It has the aero package and everything is stock except the HKS single sided hi power exhaust which was done by altered atmosphere. I will be going with the tein basic coilover setup for now because I'm not doing anything serious with the car yet. I will also install a Greddy turbo but I just don't have time because of work at the hospital and I'm in college and so I have to pay for that as well with the asistance of my parents. This rx8 was only bought for $10,000 that I had saved up. The rest of the work that will be done to the car will be coming out of my paychecks and I will mod as the months go by and hopefully keep everyone updated if people here don't mind. I'm usaully very busy with work but I do have a habbit of going to the driving range alot off of 29 going towards Ft. meade. Correct me if I'm wrong but I swear about several days ago there was a winning blue rx8 with the mazdaspeed body kit and some work kai 18/9.5 wheels(bronze). I think it was DANS(DANOMITE?). I saw it at the driving range when I was playing golf. I assumed it was him because it was the exact same car in the pictures that were on the forum. Sorry if it was not you. But if it is you must not live to far from me but IDK. I'm always at the driving range. So yeah, to everyone in maryland, I do cruise around town and the beltway/highways. I'll try to be polite if I do see a fellow member but I'm new to this rx8 forum and may need some guidance. I try to find as much info as possible before posting on a specific topic so if I do post, it will be a question that was not asked hopefully. I will try to post and or reply to any and everyone that has a question about me but please don't get mad if I don't post right away. Oh yeah and for those that have been up to PFS lately they have been running around in a 3 rotor rx8 AT which I thought was pretty cool.
