Whose/what additional radiators are you using? I saw olddragger's thread about additional radiator, are you doing something similar or a different canned solution?
Dan mentioned that the "aluminum radiators" suck, and I've heard that about the usual Koyo, but what about BHR's? His is a different design and supposedly does a decent job.
For the record, I saw 215 degrees peak at VIR this last time. That's right back to where I was before I put in the Mazsport fan mod. Last Fall I saw a peak of 205 with the mod in similar ambient air temps. Fan mod is working.

If your interested Pettit is selling the ones that are going on tomorrow, everyone that has seen the has been impreseed there are about half a dozen of them installed now, not so well known just because Cam really doesnt advertise here, he also liks to test things a hole hell of alot, hes had them on for a year and a half now with many track days and just last month said they were ready for production,,, they tie into the thermostat,,, pics,,,

When you see things like that.... its usually a slightly warped rotor... you really should get them cut... also it may be time (if you havent) to get dot 4 synthetic fluid and some ss lines.
most likely you havent found your "line" yet and compensating with your braking. you will notice that brake wear and expirience varry over time.... try different things....
one trick ive learned is to keep a can of canned air with me... spray off the rotar / pads in between runs. its helped me alot in the past....
I have a "mostly stock" car but i do beat out many other cars for one main reason.... driving expirience.... brakes, tires, other crap only compensate for some one who is not used to driving that specific car! (or when your car is too heavy and it pissed you off but your too poor to afford CF doors and still have to use your car for daily driving and cant gut out all the safety crap!)

I really do not see where you are coming from elysium19... Maybe you saw something I didn't? I saw the 5 of us having an absolute blast! Greg seemed to be VERY humbled. I dont think he was making excuses rather I thing he was concerned about his vehicle.
It might be alittle presumptuous to blame it all on his driving style as none of us were in the car with him, and you weren't even out on the track at the same time!
You don't need to know much about weight transfer to know that the fronts will wear more then the rear. I think hes was just making the statment that no brake failure seemed to happen to the rear brakes, calipers or proportioning valve.
Maybe you can join this trend by "plunking so much money into your car" after you finish med-school you were "bragging about".

IMO we all had ALOT of fun and I am sure to see everyone else back on the track again soon

Nope... 37 days this Saturday. I just updated my build thread with some pictures today, but I got a voicemail left at 2 PM that said they were having fitment problems with the turbo. By the time I got the message they were closed for the day so I don't know. I talked to Jeff about it and he said that because of the way he has it set up it is very sensative to the order in which the parts are put on so I dunno. They were supposed to be sending me pictures of the "problem" but they didn't. They also told me that my exhaust was installed already and I noticed in one of the pictures they took today that I miraculously had a second exhaust tip still....... lets just say I'm having some communication problems with them.

I always thought hawks were great for everyday driving as well as tracking. IDK much about brake pads but the style of driving and hitting each turn properly will obviously improve times but I guess we all have to start somewhere, right? Rotr8, those photos of you passing the porsche were still nice.

Youve pretty much built your car in about a quarter of the time it took me to get mine where it is,,, plus you would probably want them to take thier time, you are completely changing the car and its driving characteristics,,,,
PS- my car now has more than 90,000 miles on it, 14,000 of which have been FI...

ray basically told me to try lowering the fan activation temp to about 195 first. then try the Mazmart REmedy water pump/thermostat. then after all that, try the BHR or Mazmart radiator. if it still doesn't work, then ultimately, extra radiator would be the only thing left. i might even try to rig up a cheap water spray/mist system to cool down the radiator. i think sport compact car did it with one of their track cars with parts from home depot...haha.

J.C. Whitney windshield bottle w/ internal pump, a few replacement wiper nozzles and a couple gallons of distilled water from Food Lion. $30 bucks worth of material for a test that might save the -8 from a ghastly fate.

oh fo sho, i wouldn't just use tap water. it would definately be a mix of alcohol and distilled water (can't have it freezing in the winter either, cause i'm not draining it).
the cheaper route would be to simply disconnect the line going to the windshield washer nozzles and move them near the radiator. then manually activate it using the washer switch and see if the temps go down.
now the only problem i see with this is if you're on the track. would it spray enough water to where it'll leave a wet trail behind you causing a hazard for the driver's behind you...

Yeah, they probably would not appreciate you leaving water trails behind your car on the track. I'm not sure what the cooling situation is going to be with my car yet, I'm going to have to see how it handles all the new go-fast bits. As long as my exhaust isn't white hot and lighting **** on fire (lol Greg) then I should be alright.

I remember that 240 project, I have about 10 yrs worth of SCC mag, Ill see if I can dig it up, probably be quicker just googling, it,,,
I see it working, and I think you can find a sweet spot with the water alchy mix where it would evaporate quick enough so your not just dumping all over the track,,,
Can always build one and test it out on the road, nothing against dump water on public roads, then dial it back,,

yea, as long as the droplets from the nozzle is fine enough, the heat within the engine compartment should be enough to evaporate it instantly...especially if there is alcohol mixed in. one of those agricultural conical nozzles should do the trick. i just gotta find some time to try this **** out...

and Im DANomite that idea sounds very good. im sure many on this forum would like to see the results of your testing. well if you decide to go through with it that is. plus its relatively cheap and can be a very useful mod.
