Popeyes is such a double edged sword. Its so good but takes sooooooooooo ong to get, I mean c'mon the chicken is already made sitting there how Freakin long does it take you to turn around and grab it,,, Even worse if you want to see total confusion just go in there and ask for thier chicken sandwhich, 20 mins later you may get what you ordered... ![Cussing](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/cussing.gif)

New RX-8 owner in Annapolis. An '05, but she doesn't look a day over new. Replaces a 14 year old Miata I put 210k miles on. One might be sentimental parting with a great car like the Miata, but I'm completely in love with my new RX-8 and it out-zooms the Miata in every way.
I could gush all day about my RX-8, but there's driving to be done!

A.) Greg, I don't frequent Popeyes enough for that stuff, but I'll go in and order that sandwich, in spanish, and see how long it takes. Maybe there's a language problem there.
B.) WELCOME CALENLAS!
I welcome you with open arms and.....a loud mouth? but that's normal for me... you should come to one of our monthly sushi meets! It's always a pleasure to meet people with the same passion!

Labyrinth,
Definitely track down the problem soon rather than let it sit. My Miata had problems with moisture in the trunk and from the AC run-off and you can't imagine what an awful moldy, mildewy mess that grew into. The carpets will soak it up and remain soggy providing a perfect place for gunk to start growing. Once it does, the only solution is to recarpet the whole damn thing.
Good luck.

Hello all!
I've had my 8 for about 3 months now, but I'm new to rx8club.com
I drive a 2010 Aurora Blue Mica RX-8 R3 around Crofton and along 32 between 97 and 295

Welcome, DrTodd! You got great taste in cars and in names! (My real name is Todd as well, shh, don't tell anybody.
) I'll give a wave if I see you, my commute is 97-32.
By the way, I parked next to a happy looking bright blue RX-8 at the MD Renaissance Festival on Sunday. Anyone on this forum?

Thanks Todd- er, I mean calenlas lol... I was researching the car for about 8 months, then spent 6 months waiting for winter to end, so I had a rough idea what I was climbing into
. I knew more than the dealer about the car.
And if I see you on 32, I'll wave back.
@sephyobsessed - sushi meets? sounds delicious

Being new to the 8 I'm trying to find a shop near by that is knowledgable about rotaries. So, who's the go-to shop for rotaries in the Annapolis area? Surely there's someone that everyone takes their 7s and 8s to.
I've got a great shop that kept my Miata in good health for years (Redd's), and I'm sure they'd give the 8 their best, but if there's a specialist around I'd like to know.
Thanks!

Not really. They are pretty few and far between. PFS near Frederick is your best shot, but they are pretty heavily biased towards 7s, and are just getting their feet wet on 8s, to the detriment to at least 1 person I am aware of.
If you insist on paying for someone else to do the maintenance, your best bet is Rosenthal Mazda in Arlington VA, as they tend to screw people over less than most dealerships. They were a vendor on here for a while too, and willingly sell OEM parts online and ship them anywhere, so more friendly and knowledgeable than most.
The 8 is SO easy to work on though, I jsut do everything myself. The only thing that isn't cake to do is an engine replacement or engine rebuild...
Your Miata place is probably just fine, though keep in mind that reading the boards here will probably mean that your knowledge will outstrip theirs quite quickly, so you might be giving the direction and solutions in the end.

Thanks for the info, RIWWP. After hearing over and over how easy the 8 is to work on I'm excited to dive in and get some experience under my belt. Having never done anything more than oil changes on my Miata, it would be nice to have knowledgeable back-up from a specialist shop as I learn. It seems that this forum is really the best specialist help one could hope for.
I'll be diving in head first with the long list of inspection/replacement items on the 30k service list then a coils & plugs job then probably brakes. Hell, after all that I'm probably qualified to open my own shop.

2 things:
There's a black rx-8 parked on Gainesville St. in SE DC that I see fairly often, DC tags "DC8". Any of you? I'm just down the street from you in a silver, hopefully you're on here and we can meet up sometime.
Also, woke up to this this morning. Whoever did it better hide, and hide good:
