DANo, didn't you put up those pics of the bmw that got screwed up by a body shop? I'm on here a lot, I just don't post that much.

If you see a plain silver RX-8 (no body enhancements), then it might be me. I like the exterior the way it is, but like everybody, wouldn't mind a little more hp, a few less lbs, and a few more dbs.

crisis, I'd definitely be interested in seeing how the rp shifter feels, and I'm not above bribing anybody with a beer or baked goods.

hey, i'm from Cecil County, you should check out the Philladelphia Region SCCA website. They have alot of their races at Ripken Stadium about 20 min North of White Marsh on 95. There are also some good pics of 8s on their site. I feel like i have the only one around way up here!

what seems to be the consensus on tint percentages? Anyone had any good/bad experienes with tint companies or cops? I need to get some tint done before it starts warming up again...not that that puts me in any rush, but you never know with MD weather.

I know Harford county is really strict on tint... as they have nothing else to do but as long as you dont spend a lot of time there i would say go with 20%

if you have a 5 with yellow tints how do you get away from the cops?

i mean don't you get those service tickets to take off your tints?

and what do you do if you do get them?

Intro Post.

Been a slave to WMATA for a couple years after moving up from FL, but going to get a Black RX8 in the next month or two. Looking for some dealer reccomendations around Montgomery County and happened upon this site. Also, Any aftermarket shops around here?

Peace. =)

Thanks for the recommendations, all.

Psythe:
In terms of dealerships, DO NOT go to congressional mazda off 355. I got mine from gaithersburg mazda. They treated me pretty well. Painted my brake rotors for free and have even helped me out with a speaker-induced rattle or two that I didn't feel like taking care of myself (well after the "adjustments" aspect of my warranty had expired).

For aftermarket shops, I don't know of too many around here that have all that much experience with rotory. If you want to be hardcore about it, you can drive for a little while and talk to Peter Ferrell. I know that Altered Atmosphere in air park has done a Greddy turbo or two and a few other bits for the 8.

oh, and fyi, one of altered 's old company cars was a 3-rotor '7. When I talked to them about a year ago, they weren't too keen on the idea of forced induction for the Renesis, as they had not touched any yet, but they have gained some wrench time on the 8 since then.

lol, thanks for making fun of my lingo, dd. i thought that I heard he sold it a while ago, but, then again, I'm not so "hardcore"

A little off-topic, what do you guys think of the Stern st-1 rims? I'm thinking about high gloss black but I can't decide on size & i'm not sure that the looks are worth the weight.

Theres a mazda dealership off of 29 in silver spring i think its Darcars

when selling you the vehical they are pretty generous with offers and i was able to cut about 6 or 7 g's off the sticker price i forgot now

but they're service department consists of many different darcars dealers so it's more difficult

Can anyone tell me a good place to get a spoiler installed in the Silver spring/Rockville area? And is it better to buy the spoiler on-line or buy it through the shop you want to install it?
