Just put some headlight LEDs on to make my tisilver 8 stand out more. Definitely looks awesome.

I'm thinking about intake, exhaust, and boost upgrades but my wankel has 87k on it. Anyone have high miles with any of these upgrades on it. I want my 8 to see the 150k mark atleast

Local service centers/shops in Rockville/Gaithersburg

Hey guys,

I live in the Rockville/Gaithersburg area. I drive around in my stormy blue 8.

These days I get a high-pitched noise from my brakes and I think I need new brakes. So I called the dealership and they say it costs $212 to replace my brakes (of course excluding the cost of the brakes). I am planning on getting the Hawk HPS which I am going to order today or tomorrow. The dealership also told me that there was a service due at 23K miles (mine is around 22K) for $150. I don't want to shell out 212+150 on my service and brake replacement. (The brakes itself do not cost that much).

Could anyone please suggest a shop in this area who does a good job and is not a stealer? I could have done the job myself but I never did it and so am not really sure if I could even come close to finish without messing it up. As a matter of fact I never did anything on my 8 in the past 3 years except topping it off with oil

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

How's it going fellas, hope everyone that going to carlisle this weekend id ready and have a nice ride up.
Nibble8 if don't mind the ride I work @ a mazda dealer and I can do the brakes for you and even turn the rotors, I mean if your willing to pay another shop over a $100 to do it why not let a mazda tech take care of it for less lolIJS.......

Nimble 8, doing the brakes was the first thing I ever did on the car, I even used hawk hps. There is a really useful diy on the diy forum. I would love to help you with that some weekend. The service you probably would want rjay to do.

@rjay: I'll try to find a shop in the area but I am not very positive on finding one. Plz pm me ur contact so I can give u a call to find ur availability.

@emzloh: yeah I wanted to do it on my own but this time I am also bleeding my brakes to replace with dot 4. Also, if I need to replace rear breakpads which I was told is a pain. So, may be this time I'll get it done by someone experienced.

Theres a great guide to bleeding and even rotors. The rears aren't all that bad. I did the front and rears on the same day. I just rented a brake tool from salvo. Was free.

Guys, bad news for me. Some 15yr old kid hit my car when it was parked on the street. I normally park my 8 in the lot but there were kids playing in the lot these days so I started parking on the street a couple days back.

When I saw my 8 I almost got a heart attack and I thought I would faint in a bit

Here are a few pics:

https://www.rx8club.com/forum/album.php?albumid=3635

Both the doors are not opening and closing properly. I can see the doors move down a bit when opened.

I was wondering if the damage below the doors is considered a frame damage. If anyone knows, please let me know.

Ouch man that really sucks! Is your insurance covering everything? Or his or parents?

The SUV is insured under his grand dad and his mother took the blame for the accident. So their insurance is covering my 8. But still I am unable to sleep properly. Very very heavy hearted.

All CAI's are after market ufarooq1. Are you looking for a new intake, or are you going cold air?
