Yea I want something that makes a roaring sound of sucking the air in when you go past 4k rpm lol even tho OEM is CAI it won't do that. Doesn't have to be as long as an old one is in a good condition I'll take it. What do you guys think about the k&n ones?

I ran the K&N hot air intake and it was awful, made a neat sound and all, and if thats all you want then its fine, but definitely noticed a weaker throttle response and dramatic heat soak after periods of spirited driving.

ufarooq1- the oem is the best out there, Mazda engineers are a little bit more passionate about making every part the best they can out of the box then most other companies, but the AEM/MS style is probably the best aaftermarket out there.
colombian8- welcome, if your avaiable this weekend there is a meet saturday that a few of us are heading over to. Check ou the last couple pages of the Sushi meet thread in the NE subforum.

But this is a small meet just like the last.....with some differences. 1) more people its in a popular shopping center (kmart, radioshack, shoprite, mcdonalds, tacobell, and a furniture store) off of a major road so it gets pretty crowded. 2) Alot more activities besides the eating contests (where they give prizes like stereos, amps, t-shirts, etc...) they usually have a radio throwing contest, tug of war contest, motorcycle trick riding show, etc. This show like the last usually fills up pretty quick. So getting there early is the key for good parking. I will not enter my car in this one but will definitly hang out. Oh and definitly enter an eating contest or two. But I think they give out a prize for best club (participation in contest and cars in show).

Intake System
@ufarooq1, I bought the Carbon-Fiber Charger Air Intake System, from Rotary FX and I do notice a diffence in sound. I don't seem to get much heat soak as others were talking about, however this intake is pretty much like the OEM one just round it even utilizes the same factory air slit on the back side of the bumper. I've not dyno'd the car to see a before and after but I don't notice any loses from the intake. But like I said I don't know any hug difference besides the sound. Which is fine for me I think our cars are fast enough for street and plenty fast for the road courses I got to as well.
Not to support any vendors but here a link to that product. But for the price as long as you don't loose power and hear a diff in sound I don't care as much. Also I am getting a Mid pipe next week with two baffles in it not just a straight pipe. That will help the "power" a tiny bit and give the more aggressive sound I want from my Rx8, after all the Cat on our car is JUNK and there are better ways for the Government regulatory company's to control the emission besides just using one of those POS!! If your looking for the better intakes go CAI (pricey) but work it. Best of luck man!

Thanks a lot for the input bro but ive already installed cats on my 8 and i love the sound. I do not think its worth spending a couple hundred more on a part that barely gives an extra kick (according to all the people ive talked to) besides a better sound which you probably wont even notice much because of the after market exhausts.

Fender rolling near Baltimore?
Hey guys, just installed some Advans and I need a fender roll or trim to give the rear wheels some more clearance. I've called a couple local places (No Limit and Cliff's Direct Effect), and they tell me they could possibly do it, depending on how my rear fender is designed. I know our fenders can be rolled, but I wanted to know where others have had theirs done with good results. Seems like not many places can or are willing to do it around here. I've looked into renting a roller, but honestly I need it done very soon and I'd rather pay for the service at this point. Thanks for any suggestions!
And btw, I'd like to have a local meet soon as well. It's been a while since I've attended one!

Hey thanks Dan... I'll definitely consider that. I didn't have any time this weekend to do it, and I'd been planning to drop it off at No Limit in Overlea on Monday morning.
The guy there told me that actually don't roll the fenders -- they trim them instead and then seal them. Do you all think this is a good option?
