the fenders on our cars are like tin metal. they're very very flimsy (sp?). rolling would retain the metal and still have a bit of more support IMO. plus, what are you gonna do about the fender lining??

Olorin. Use no limit's body work guy. They sub all their work out to magic customs in middle river. The only way to get in touch with him is with the cell number. Let me know if you want it.

Yeah, I'm not sure how they'd handle the lining. Do you happen to have a heat gun that I could "rent" with that roller? I'm thinking I may want to do this myself, and if you do have both, I'd really love to be able to get the equipment sometime today or early tomorrow.

You know, I actually took my car to Mike at Magic Customs last Wednesday, and he said he'd most likely trim the fenders as well. He couldn't do the work until sometime next week so I didn't drop it off. Would the body shop guy at No Limit roll instead of trim?

Well it looks like I can get a heat gun pretty cheap. Any idea how long your roller will be out?

BTDT. Crumple zones FTW. Hope you're OK and the idiot who hit you has a broken nose and gets dumped by their insurance co (after they pay up).

Bye.

There are many more 8's out there if you want another. If mine got crushed I'd definitely get another one. But I'm weird.

Hit and run? Wait a minute... You're driving an RX-8. Unless they were driving a 911 GT or your car was disabled, no way should they have been able to run away!

I'm doing fine thanks - car did an admirable job at sacrificing itself for me.
It was Rt2 and Jones Station, speed limit 50.
I'll miss the RX-8 and would get another but I'm about to be posted abroad. It was the most entertaining involving production car I've owned.
I liked this requiem https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-discussion-3/proper-requiem-rx-8-a-210630/

Just got my 2011 8 a couple months ago. I've been wanting one for a long time, but waited until my kids were out of the child seats

Welcome, steadybdub

I work on base in Edgewood and drive around Abingdon all the time, lunch friends houses etc etc, if you see a modded Ti Gray that sounds like a jet engine wave...

Anyone gonna be in or near OC next week? I'll be down starting tomorrow, through next Saturday (16th), if anyone would like to hook up. The 8 is clean and ready for a trip.

So far there's a red one I pass that works in APG and a very "electric" yellow. I did however pass a gray one on 136 a few weeks back and they waved. Maybe it was you? LOL Kinda made my day, since we are sort of a rare breed.

The red on e and the yellow one also work on base with me. The guy who drives the yellow one will pretty much never make it out to a meet due to an overbearing wife, and Ive tried to talk to the guy with the red one and he was pretty snobby and thought his was faster, I did not get to open my hood, lol...

Ok, so how about a mini Maryland meet on Sunday the 24th around the Inner Harbor Baltimore/Columbia/Ellicot City area? We can plan on more things depending on how many of us are free..

Even tho i live in VA I am only an hour away from the inner harbor depending on how fast I drive down the parkway. I usually drive an average of about 80-85 every time I goto drill at ft mead.
