so visit this page and click on the "driver register" link for the June 29th event in Waldorf
http://wdcr-scca.org/?TabId=257
This will take you to the DLB Racing page where you'll sign up for the vent and get your SCCA weekend membership which is $10 (unless you're already an SCCa member) then the event fee is $55, now this is higher than usual since its a double event so your effectively getting twice as much action as usual for less than twice the money so it's a pretty good deal.
The registration is pretty straightforward, I think I paid with a credit card but they accept PayPal as well. since you have to pre register, you need to let them know as soon as you can if you can't make it for whatever reason.
when you go to register you select either the CS class if you are totally stock, or the STX class if you have basic modifications, I think as a novice, no one is going to be particular about scrutinizing your car and whether is class legal to the letter of the regs, don't worry about that and just have fun at the event. feel free to ask any of us there what sort of things put you in which classes if you're interested though.
look forward to seeing you there!
ow I just have to repair my rusty, leaking oil cooler line (le sigh)

No problem Nate, it seems like you are well on your way to beating everyone in the CDC in their own cars! ![Beer05](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/beer05.gif)
I can't believe the oil lines are that expensive, I figured they'd be like $200 at the most! I better start fundraising for when mine eventually go. Are you replacing them with stock ones, or are you upgrading to something supposedly more durable?

RX8: Oil System: Oil Line Set - 04-08 RX-8 Manual Trans only -
I noticed the rest of the CDC events fall on Saturdays for a while... Unfortunatly I have to work on Saturdays so I think I may start attending some of the SCCA events as they seem to have more on Sundays...
Does anyone else here go to those? Can you participate in them if you aren't a SCCA member or do you have to join? Also I saw that it said it's a championship event, does that mean not just anyone can come out and run?
Had a great time yesterday, sorry about the oil lines Nate, do you want any help fixing them?

Yeah bladeiai those are the ones I was looking at for 475 (& they're purdy!)
For now though until I can free up 500 bucks I'm just going to case the offending part in epoxy and glass mat and hopefully that'll hold well enough to keep me on the road and through tech for awhile.
replacing the hoses according to RacingBeat is pretty tough with the engine installed, I've gotten lots of offers for help and I really appreciate it. Alex will be coming up to give me a hand when the time comes, he lives pretty close to me.

Blade do you have a mod list? I can help you try to figure out your class, you're probably STX. As a novice though no one will really care, I'd only worry about it if you were in the points hunt for the championship anyway.
Oh and Chris that's the price to replace ALL the lines with fancy SS braided ones with AN fittings

Yeah anyone can sign up, if you're not already an SCCA member then just get the 10$ weekend membership.

Let me know if you change your mind about needing help now or whenever you replace the lines.

Nope, that's my CDC buddy Greg though, he'll also we going to the events in Waldorf and the SSCA event the day after. A really good guy and he would totally let you ride along with him at either event.
My wife's is silver and has the spoiler, and no fancy pants license plate either

John (bladeiai) and my car club buddies will be there, but I'm sitting out SCCA at FedEx that day, good luck to you and as a first timer just try to stay on the course!
Its much better to have a helmet of your own. I went a few events without one my first year but after you realize that you're hooked you should get one for sure![Smilie](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Have a good time I'll see at one of these things sooner or later!
Chris are you going to make it out?

Made it out to the SCCA event at FedEx. Hung out with bladeiai and his gf. They are very cool to hang out with. The rain delays (yes plural) really put a damper on our runs by the time it was our group's turn to go. Learned a decent amount, got a little sun burn. I will need to upload video.

The rain did put a bit of a damper on the day... it was interesting (and pretty fun) to drive in the wet though. I ended up super sun burned lol. I have got to get some decent sun screen.
Anyone going to the Autocrossers inc, July 14th run??
Also anyone going to the SCCA runs, I think they changed a few of the dates in July/August.
I'll try to post some pics/vids after work
