I haven't added any new speakers but I did install a bass control module under the ashtray lid so that I don't have to change the bass settings through the head unit. The only other thing I have done is changed the diff. and trans. fluids to Redline Synthetic. Give me a call Friday when you get a chance to figure out where to meet.

Question

Crofton/Bowie/Annapolis checking in...again...lol

Been almost a year since I've hit the forums, but I've been too busy with my '05 TitGray to post. :D

What's new?

Oh and on a side note: been tooling around doing some of the more fun "road-trippy" stuff like the double Beltway Circuit (695 & 495), but lately I've been looking for a little more "race-type stuff." I used to use 32 as a test track. That went bad. *wheeoo-wheeoo-wheeoo*

But 125MPH was cool.

450 From Rt 3 to Annapolis Mall is nice, but I'm too nervous to really open it up. (Nightmare visions of my RX-8 soaring gracefully across a golden sunset and landing in a swamp go here.)

I've taken it to Capitol Raceway, stock. Yes, stock. Blew the doors off a 3000GT with about 10k work of under-hood work. Yep, stock. He were angry.

I'm just looking for amateur "race-training" roads I guess. Something that won't endanger people, but where I can really get the feel of how she handles on a track.

Thanks, fellow MD Rotor-heads! See you out there.

Hey all, long time no speak from me... hope to see you all at a meet when the weather improves for good!

QUESTION!!! I've got a burning smell from under my hood that I can detect easily but my mechanic promises he can't smell it - smells like burning rubber - ANYONE ever deal with this problem before???

As always, I appreciate the support and hope everyone is doing well.
Best,
Matt

FYI for all you Glen Burnie area residents - if you own an RX-8 stay away from Rich Morton Mazda on Mountain Road in Pasadena - if you want specifics, just ask me...

No, it wasn't me. I give my heads up to anyone driving a Rotary Powered Car.

Rich Morton Mazda experience

First time in, mechanic didn't tighten the lugnuts on my tires (I was safely home before I noticed - that sucked). Next time, dirtied up the interior and broke a piece off of the center consol (also ordered the wrong part - just annoying)... last time (before I started going to Fitzgerald in Annapolis) signed for 15000 mile maintenance and DID NOT lubricate locks hinges and DID NOT rotate and balance tires, even though they signed for that maintenance... I can only believe that they also didn't change oil and filter (but who knows)... overall, bad experience... also, I am still waiting on my rebate from the payment I made for the work that was not done... and that is almost 5 months ago... and that's after talking to the service GM and getting his hand shake, written statement, and bothering him by going in 2 more times and e-mailing him for the rebate over the past 2 months... real superstars there.

just a bad service department overall.

wow yeah I can see why you wont be going back there any more, thats plenty enough reason for me to never go there either. But yeah man Fitzgerald is awesome, thats where I got my 8 and the people there are great too. It was the only Mitsu. dealer that would let me test drive an evo,(Im 18 yrs old so..) so yeah that place is awesome haha

Sorry Coke...My phone was on but when I went out to get dog food @ 3:45 I got your message. Even though we spoke afterwords, I didn't know if you could hear me over the MX6. Anyway, I could meet up for a few minutes on Fri. morns but I will be "working" (no 8) unless I take off. I could do occasional Thurs. evenings. Weekends are still much better. If anyone would be interested in doing White Marsh meets, I'm in. Anyone here live in Harford County or somewhere close?

Any of you guys ever called on the dent wizard??? I've got 3 door dings that look terrible - especially when the car is nice and shiny - and I've been thinking about paying somebody to try to get rid of them...

Suggestions??????

My friend got stuck in a hail storm on the road 1 month after he bought a brand new LS430. There was a place in Rockville that did a great job with it. It may be a little out of your way, but I can certainly find out where he went if you;re interested.

I actually live in Harford County (Joppa), and work in White Marsh, across the street from The Avenue. So I'd definitely be up for a meet somewhere around here.

Coke, Thursdays at Loew's might work for me. I don't know about every week, but I'm sure I could swing it some time or another.
