RE: Autocross in Waldorf

Looked like a great run. I moved to the other side of the bay, so not as easy getting to events compared to when I lived in Crofton! I liked that venue (Blue Crabs Stadium). Ran a lot there with BMW CCA because they had so many events, friendly people, diverse crowd and cars, and well-run. FedEx with SCCA is pretty awesome too.

Ah, maybe I'll commit to more seat time in the spring.

There will be some special $5 off discount coupons at the entrance for our rotary folks, reducing the all-day admission to $10, while they last.

Eww, never mind, I didn't realize it was drag racing. I'll just stick to the kind of racing that RX-* are affordably good at

Cripes, it's been how long since I posted on here?

Yes, I'm alive. Yes, the Yellow Beast is still here, and with a lot of stupid drama behind me, it's time to get ready for track days in 2016.

Anyone got a Cobb they'd like to sell?

MD Maryland RX8ers

Hello, stumbled across this thread. It looks old but thought I would give it a try anyway. Can anyone recommend a good rotary mechanic in the maryland area preferably north maryland around Bel Air???? Would really appreciate any help.

Thanks
Dave

There technically are no new rotary Renesis engines, just rebuilt with new internal parts, as needed. There are threads here that recommend experienced rebuilders. It will cost you less if you supply your engine core, if the irons are still in decent shape. (no way to tell until teardown)

I would pm Moon Assad or Nathan Atkins and maybe they can help you in Maryland. If you are willing to go further north into Southern New jersey, I can recommend JPR Imports in Blackwood, NJ. He has decades of experience and has built everything rotary up to and including 1000hp rotary dragsters. An experienced rotary engine rebuilder ! Tell him Jerry Williams sent you.

Marc Monnar (Zelse on here) and I will be running in DSP class for the SCCA Washington DC Solo National Tour Event if any of you guys want to check it out. Lots of National level drivers from all up and down the east coast come out for it. It's also open to sign up for SCCA members (you can get a weekend membership if you like)

Here's the link to the Event, don't be afraid to sign up to compete and if you cant run and you're not busy come out and see some fast cars and drivers. 2016 Tire Rack Washington DC Championship Tour - Sports Car Club of America The registration closes after this week. Let me know if you have questions about what class youd fit in based on your mods/tires.

Hope to see some of you there. The RX-8 is a strong car in 3 different classes, don't waste your ride only using on the street! :-)

Anyone interested in buying my RX8? 2006 Shinka edition, 78,900 miles. Overall good condition and runs well, almost all stock. Looking to sell because I really don't need it and want the cash to spend on my RX-7. If you or someone you know is interested, message me.

I was in my yellow C5Z Corvette in Curtis Bay at lunchtime today and a cheeky chap in a gray RX8 came zooming up the curves behind me really fast and flashing his brights at me. I gave the car a few seconds of full throttle in 3rd and gapped the RX8 enough to assert my horsepower dominance. Pulled up next to him where the road opened up to two lanes and told him I have an RX8 too heheh I don't think he expected that. If you see this, guy I saw today, pm me, I'll see if I can make an Autocrosser or trackdaybruh out of you.

Checking in

Hey guys, just checking in from Gaithersburg. I'm new here and I've had my 8 for a little less than a year. It's a silver '04. I made an account a while ago and I'm just now getting to posting anything.

Heeeyyyy. I'm back in another RX8. Found this great little 05 Shinka 6MT with 38k on it that I picked up 2 days ago. Used to be on here about 6 years ago but ended up losing my 05 WWP because my Exwife sold it while I was gone for training. Glad to be back in the club though Anyone else in the Glen Burnie area?
