nope MAF is all connected good, that was the first thing everybody checked. Plus they said the car would be acting very weird if it was the MAF i.e. sputtering, bogging and all that fun stuff. The cap that came with the kit was a rubber one, just wasnt big enough, and thats what Ive been looking for but nobody has them...either that or the people that work at these stores are retarded and have no clue what theyre doing..which is very possible!

Anyone else get a "Safety Recall Notice" card from Russell Mazda? Seems to me like it's BS and they are fishing for business.

Doesn't say. It's a cheap little postcard type thing, tells me it's a "safety recall" and that they are my "safety recall center" and I should call them and bring the car in.

Considering I haven't gotten my recall notice from Mazda I'm calling BS on this one. Just seems a sleazy thing, it's not even a safety recall.

Official recalls come directly from the manufacturer not from your dealer. They might give you a heads up if you have an extremely good relationship with them before a recall is announced, but I doubt they would know much before the excellent members of this board who have contacts within Mazda. Go to the Rosenthal Mazda site to check out tsbs and recalls. They have proven to be an accurate source of info.

Sounds like

Oh, I knew it was complete BS when I got it (thanks to the advance recall notice from this board). I was just wondering if anyone else had gotten this.

Enough laughs.. have a sad story.. i'm not sure if any of you heard about the rx7 car crash in Olney MD.. but the guy passed away.. in the 7 forum we tryin to organize something to show our condolences (sp).. I was think that we should drive over to the house or at least to his funeral.. like a huge caravan of rx7's and 8's along with his family to the burial..

I would be down with that. if we get enough people to join I can get ABC 7 (wjla) back out there to cover such an event because I work for them. I think it would be a good tribute to a fellow rotor head. Anyone know the family to get funeral details?

Get that info and get everything arranged and I will be there. I will talk with my news director once you know if this will work out.

I just spoke with the assignment desk and his obituary has not been made public yet which means 1.) they are keeping it private or 2.) there arent plans yet. Any inside info people may have please feel free to pass it along. I am going to keep posting any updates I get from the assignment desk as I get them.

Edit: The 18 y/o kid is still in the hospital incase anyone wants to send him a card or something.
