This may be out of the area for you, but I highly recommend Rosenthal Mazda in Arlington Va. The best dealer ship I have ever been to for our two 8s. Every time we go up there they help without pulling any strings. I travel an hour out of my way just to have them work on ours.

Hey, I was just up in HdG Wednesday night helping a friend bleed brakes on his "Luxury Beater" Maxima. Didn't see any 8's. ;-)
I've got a couple of RX-7's too. Had one out at the Lowe's Friday night show a month or two ago. Handful of FDs in the area. Only seen one FB. Seen a few FE's around Bel Air proper, mostly Silver or Titanium.
Any opinion on Heritage Mazda in Bel Air? They did the MSI for me. $90/hour service rate. I have three warranty issues I want fixed, and don't want them to eff it up. My only other nearby choice is Nationwide Mazda in Lutherville.

I bought my '07 Galaxy Gray brand new from Heritage Mazda in Bel Air about one month ago. My salesperson was Eli and he was good to me. I don't have a problem recommending him personally and if you want, send me a PM and I can tell you who is referring you.
I live down near Columbia, MD, but went up there because they had a very good selection. They expressed an earnest interest in making sure everything was right with the sale.
The dealer I cannot recommend is Russel Automotive in Catonsville.

Yes it should, but probably never will, if for no other reason than Russell also owns a very successful BMW dealership, as well as a Toyota dealership. They can basically afford to give the worse service imaginable to all their Subaru, Mazda, and VW customers and they would still be relatively immune because of the Toyota and BMW cash cows.

Sadly, but true. I always tell people to not get a car from Russell. I had the worst buying experience from them for my 8. Luckily, that same salesperson is working for another dealership. The manager there is also horrible at his job.

While I normally don't bad mouth people, I tend to agree about Russell in Catonsville. I took my car in for an oil change (simple enough) and they screwed up. I made up to the light at the top of hill. Someone in another car jumped out and told me I was dumping oil/gas all over the place. Russell did fix it and apologized profusely, but I'm a bit gun shy of them after they almost blew my motor. A pain as they are close to my house.
I did get some good service at Ourisman Mazda in Laurel, MD. Apparently it is a newer shop, but they have a good staff. I was driving by and happened it get a check engine light. I quickly pulled in (no appointment emergency). They took care of me. It ended up being a bad gas cap. In addition, while I waited a sales rep answered any questions I had about the car and gave me a number of tips. Real nice guy. It seems they figure a happy customer will come back in a few years to buy, again. (Real rocket science to many dealers, apparently)

hey Guys finally getting back my RX8 on Saturday. I am pretty siked had the Engine rebuild with a better tune for my turbo 300whp cant wait to get my baby back.
D.
by the way never go to the Mazda dealer in (Russel)catonsville they are horrible they don't know what they are doing. One of the Mechanics there was messing around with my car, I took in for regular service blew my engine the next day coming home from work. I think one of them was messing with the boost controller

Looks like there'll be another rx7 meet at Fudds in Columbia on 1/26 if any rx8 people feel like going.
I'll probably be driving my rx7 this time unless something goes horribly wrong with it.

I bought my 8 from Wil Wells at Heritage Bel Air. I cannot say enough about how great he has been, very friendly and very helpful. Unfortunately I can't say the same for their service department
. They've not done anything awful *yet* but they are typically unfriendly and unhelpful, and I'm fairly sure they're responsible for one of the dings on my car.
Worst they've done to me so far is rotate my tires after I declined the service and then charged me for it
I'm waiting for worse though.

Hey, Y'all. New here- just got my 8 three days ago
. Private sale, but i am looking at taking it to Ourisman (near my work) or Heritage (~30 mins from my house) to get my tires checked out (they need a rotation, balancing, and alignment!). I'll let you know how that goes. Anyway, holla to baltimore county peoples! See you around!!
