Do parade laps require helmets? Are helmets available?

Nope, no helmets required in prior years.

LAtely they have been keeping the speeds under 60mph or so, nothing anywhere near the edge.

Though the year before my first one I was told they hit 100mph on the front stretch...

The speed is dependant on the car count (more = slower) and how behaved people are. The calmer and more consistent the train, the faster they will pick the pace up. People start lagging behind, doing power runs, etc... and they chop the pace back REAL quick.

Yes, that would be the year I went, probably. Sadly, I went on Sunday b/c it was the only day I could do and didn't get to go out.

Still a stretch to get to this one at all. But I'll be calling you soon for some local drives. Been in hermit mode this winter b/c I've been so busy.

Just think about it, the parking spot is on top of the mountain and the whole racetrack is nowhere near sea level.

I dunno. I think I am going to have it dyno somewhere in NYC probably a week or 2 from now using the same dynojet. Just to see what sup

I re-dynoed (again) today, and we yanked the ABS/DSC fuse prior to it. Picked up 11hp top end (167, so still low), but the MAF data graphed from the logs is clearly superior the entire range. Slightly higher humidity, same ambient temp.

These dyno charts were actually complete too (mirrors this MAF chart data), and WAY smoother than any of the previous 4 pulls (still the same smoothing factor 5)

The logged data also recorded 96% load at peak, the prior ones were 88/89%, and the MAF data peaked at 204g/s today, vs low 190s yesterday.

I'm by no means an expert, but I can say SOMETHING was different. Maybe it was the ABS/DSC fuse, maybe it was how they did it, maybe it was that the 5th moon of saturn was in it's trilithium phase.

I will try to get my car dyno this coming week @ Dynojet if possible and I will pull my Room fuse + replace my air filter before I hit the Dyno.

Cuz our numbers are ultra low ... ? especially we have AP/RB flash.

Something is not right, the power/graph is all messed up just right after 6200 rpm and we all know what that is.

now I'm thinking is it because the fan in front is not "strong enough?" lol sounds like I'm trying to find whatever excuse I can possibility think of ...

Possible. The 8s were the only rotary's, but the 8's were also the only ones running over ~6500 rpm.

I'm glad I logged the runs that I did.

There was a SA22C there (RX-7) but I don't think he went on the Dyno and that was the only Rotary car that's not a 8, no FC/FD showed up. weird

Next year I'm so going to bring my FC there, it should be all fix up + I'll modernize it a bit, need to work with the electronics, beef up the power and other wiring issues ... I will Dyno it when its done but it will be cool if they have another one of these "Charity" thing next year

Off topic : LOL I like the free Oil but ... but its Syntheeeetttiiiiccc ! I'm gonna use that, and if my engine dies I can blame Mazda for it LOL !!!!!
