MD Scenic Drive June 11th
Details on Mazda Sportscar Club of Washington Scenic Drive this Saturday.
It's Scenic Drive Time!
Saturday, June 11 - Washington and Frederick Counties, Maryland
Your Drive Leader will be: Jeff Blackmer
Park Entrance fee paid by MSCW, Inc. (for current MSCW, Inc. members) and weather permitting and depending on the number of attendees, MSCW, Inc. will pay for barbeque food, fixin's, rolls, utensils and condiments for a cookout at the park. MSCW has reserved a gazebo at the park.
Our meeting location will be at the Urbana Park & Ride lot in Maryland off of Interstate 270 (exit No. 26). We will meet there at 9:30 a.m. The plan is to leave the Urbana Park & Ride about 10:00, and then make our way to the Maryland side of the Potomac near Harpers Ferry. We will then work our way over to Washington Monument State Part, arriving about noon.
Jeff will be showing us some of the great scenic roads in Maryland. The route will be through Frederick and Washington counties. After leaving the park there is easy access to I70 for those who want to head for the DC area. The rest can continue the ride for about another hour, ending on Rt. 15 south of Thurmont. Two possible, places to visit before heading home after the drive are Catoctin Mountain National Park and the Cozy Inn in Thurmont, Maryland.
This is a rain or shine scenic drive. Please RSVP to John Becker at jbrerx7@aol.com by Friday, June 10 at 5:00pm so that we know how much food to purchase for participants.
Best regards.
