what is he going in for? If it is anything related to the issues he is having may be better to remove it.
When i got in for my stalling issues i take off the CAI and the optima battery. You know who (tech) suggests it so the service manager doesnt give hima hard time in fixing the car.

all, from what we talked about last night, we should get an email chain going for those interested in the show group. I should have my comp/internet up and running tommorow so I can begin working on it.
my email is nealjweese@comcast.net
What I need is:
-Who is interested
-List of mods on car
-Show experience (and awards won)
-Future plans
-Paragraph writeup on the history of the car
The first step will be getting people together who are interested in doing it and are serious about the show schedules for next year. It has to be big ones like HIN, NOPI, etc so you will need to take off time as soon as they are announced.
After that we will need to line up a decent photographer to do some shots of the cars etc.

P.S. Hawaii is awesome... and I'm going in a shark cage on Monday, and it's common to see Tiger, Hammerheads, and Great Whites. Also going into the rainforest tomorrow. We all know how awesome I am with bugs, so let's see how this goes.

We're talking about how to get an actual crew going because some of us who have tried in the past to get sponsorships have failed. We were talking about it and I guess we're gonna try at some point to get sponsored.
I personally would love to...but w/the baby on the way I won't be able to to be perfectly honest. It would be hard to dish out initial $$$ for mods. IF I can manage to swing it I am down for it. I am one of those that have tried in the past writing proposals, getting a porfolio together & etc w/no luck.
I can say that I am lucky enough atm to have Shiftstyle as a sponser...

Jeff- you have some decent stuff done to your car so its cool. You would just need the money for the stuff you want for the car etc. The more important part is the time and effort to go to the shows etc.
Kim- we were talking about this at the Tuesday meet. About putting a small group together for the show season next year. Having a diverse group that is well modified helps you attract sponsors. I figure if we can get a handful of people together who are serious about this we can help each other out. We need to start doing it now because most sponsors want the proposals in for next year by september/october. We can only have a handful of 8's (or any specific car) and they all have to be going in a different direction style wise.
The reason I didnt want to do all the discussions on here is I didnt want to jack the thread. But whichever. I need to know who is interested in doing this for next year because we need to start getting the materials put together

This thread is already jacked.
Are there any sponsorships for performance oriented stuff? Or is it all just for show? Aka could i get sponsored to drive my 8 at autocrosses and they'll pay for tires or something?

That would rule.
edit: nevermind. I see it's just for shows, not autocrosses, and my car would have to have ridiculous bumpers and **** done to it.

Meh. A lot of sponsorships are fairly minor. Good luck with that though. I dump a ton of money into my car so I might be up for doing a fair bit of shows/events next year, but I'd probably have to work on the exterior a bit to get it a little more flashy. My bumpers and aero pieces are getting beat to hell anyway.

a sponsorship proposal is like a resume.
You have to state what history you have with the car and how many events you have done. With the performance side it is alot more difficult as sponsors like winners because people will ask where they get their parts from etc. So, you will have to show a history of placing well in your local autox events.
With any proposal you will need
What you have done to the car
What you will be doing to the car
What your history is with events
What future events you will be doing
A brief synopsis about yourself and how you contribute to the deal
A statement about how the specific company will benefit from its relationship with you. How are you going to promote their products?
Sponsorships are advertising, plain and simple. If they were not spending money on your cars, they would be putting it into a magazine add or radio commercial etc. They have to feel that they will reach more people favorably by being associated with your car than any other advertising outlet. Sponsorships are not gifts or handouts, they are calculated business moves from companies to attract more customers. You have to treat it as a business deal and not a friend helping out another. Talk to them about your standing in your local car communities and explain what kind of influence you have over others. Do people routinely come to you for advice and suggestions on how to improve their car? If so, that is a great point to have in a proposal. It shows that you have sway over others purchasing decisions.
If you have any other questions, come up to a Tuesday night meet and I would be happy to talk more about it.
Regards,
Neal
