so I test drove an 04 rx8 last night with low miles ... I have always read and heard about the amazing handling, but this time I was really able to put the car through its paces (partly because the owner was egging me on ) I was blown away .... BUT there was a slight issue.
When shifting from neutral to first there was a soft clunk and the entire car slight of jerked (with the clutch all the way engaged) It was almost like shifting without the clutch in and with your engine off, or when you ALMOST misshift ... at first I thought that I wasn't engaging the clutch completely, but then I made sure the clutch was in and it still made the soft clunk and jerk when standing still.
I asked the owner if I was doing something wrong and he said that it has always been like that ever since he bought it like 8k miles ago. It has 45900 miles. Have any of you guys experienced this?
Oh, and also, I did not experience any unusual resistance when shifting neutral -> 1st, also it would only do it about 70% of the time, not 100% of the time.
