Glad to hear it was somewhat successful. With a little more organization time I'm sure we could get a pretty good showing of 7's and 8's. I'll keep an eye out for the next gathering. Sleepy, if you don't mind I'll add you to our club's email list and you can let me know the plans? There's a pretty good size group down in Tidewater too, we'll let G-Rex organize them.

With enough notice, the Hampton Roads Rotary Club would probably get some members to show as well as us 8 guys. I hope you can get another event together and we'll do our best to get a good showing for the builders. If you can and if the gentlemen are willing, a Saturday might allow more of us to travel to a meet.

Yeah its a matter of getting permission from the plant manager to do these things, he needs to make sure its a safe enviroment for them, he asked me if there is street racing involved with the meet and everything. He would be in some deep trouble should anything happen to them, its almost like baby sitting, we had to stop them that night after dinner they tried to walk to the hotel a half mile away in richmond at 10pm, not a great idea. If its in the area I am sure they would be fine to attend on a weekend, your running out of time with the master, I was wrong he is actually here another week or 2 now and yoshii has a month or 2also. BTW they are in the colonial heights area, not so much the richmond area if anything does go down. Yoshii and chad(boss) said they would be down to come out on a friday night meet again and stay later to see all the cars that show. As for me showing to a weekend thing, all depends if my car club has something going on that weekend also.

Yeah I wished more came out but a nice group of people anyways, wished it was cooler out and we had more time, I looked at the watch and had to push them out since I had coworkers waiting on us. 9k rever thanks a bunch for coming out and translating, I was wondering how much you knew but you were great, they had fun. Yoshii actually said he would want to come out there again, maybe the evenning when all the cars arrive, I was trying to keep it strictly mazda since the boss was coming with the 09 so I planned it early before the crowds arrived. "Mazda" or master, whatever people choose to call him is a bit more on the relaxed side and older so he wasn't so much into it but he enjoyed it since someone finally spoke his language. Anyways it was nice meeting all of you, I totally forgot to take pics but a few of you did and I am sure Yoshii will email me a few. See you all around, sorry we have to be secretive about things there, we were warned that everything we say reflex the company even when it comes to an opinion on something by our boss since we are Mazda employees rather then dealership employees. I will try to get Yoshii out another night for sure if he still wants to, my boss actually wants to come out to some meets but not until he gets his next company car.
Again, it was very cool and thank you guys so much, please communicate our appreciation to your boss and the 2 builder/master.

We really appreciate you coming out, I couldn't believe how many people would miss this chance to meet the people who built their engine and the Master who built rotaries for 36 years, I mean they only just had the 40th anniversary so he is one of the original rotary builder. The turn out was disappointing, hope they didn't think that was all the rotary fans we had on the east cost.

With a little more notice (not a criticism, BTW), I think we could get more people from outside the Richmond area. The downside of Friday is that most of us are working, and leaving early isn't an option for everyone. If the Richmond guys could do a Saturday meet in conjunction with the builders' schedules, we could make it a regional meet.
