its best to change plugs, wires, and coils together. more info on your car. mileage, trans, maintance history? you might have flooded it.

yup my guess is being a new owner, unless you did research on the car and engine, you might have flooded it. when you first got the car did you treat it like a normal car? just minor things like only leave it running for a few minutes to move the car in the drive way or to the corner store and back, shutting it off before the engine warmed up?

I've posted this before:

There are alot of different ways of having a "no start" and most of them have different symptoms, different points the "starting" process stops at.

The process is:
1: Key in
2: Clutch in
3: clutch sensor closes the circuit allowing start
4: Key to start
5: Starting relay opens, providing power to the starter from the battery
6: Battery power cranks over the starter motor
7: Starter motor spins the engine through the flywheel
8: Ignition opens
9: Coils get power, begin generating spark current
10: Wires transmit the current to the plugs
11: Plugs begin to spark
12: Fuel pump begins pumping
13: Engine standard compression and combustion should occur

It is possible for a no-start condition to be due to a failure at any one of the above points.

How far are you getting?
See last line.

That sounds like classical battery. No other part of the starting process changes it's efficiency/effectiveness while the car is not running.

Well, yes, if you are only getting a spark from one coil, then coils is certainly a problem. That wouldn't explain why it will start each day, but not if you wait 2 days. Are you sure you got a correct battery replacement a month ago? A wrong battery can get damaged by an alternator output it wasn't designed for and have trouble holding a charge.

You could also have a coil problem as well as a dark current problem (where something is slowly draining the battery) or a battery failure.

Coils are most cheaply replaced from AdvanceAuto. They sell the OEM coils. Just do a website search. They usually also have some sort of deal on free shipping and/or another discount or something.

I hate electrical systems in cars.. My rx7 had a paracitic drain to it. For about two months I had a similar problem. I bought a new altenator and battery, new terminals too. Unless I drove it a few times daily it would die. Turns out after poking my head around one day the there was disconnected ground that wasn't attached to the firewall

Just to clarify, with newer flashes, only 1 coil(per rotor!!!) would spark. the trailing dont work until the engine is running.

Did he check both lead coils?
