I purchased a 2004 RX8 today. It has the automatic transmission (I'll grow up and get a manual someday). It has 49000 miles on it, and I got it for 13900, which is 5000 under their asking price. Thanks to a little mistake on their part, I got the car for that price.
I'm 18 and this is my second car. I'm moving up from a. . . .95 Geo Metro auto.
And what's ironic is that they both have 1.3 liter engines (of course the Mazda has the brilliant Wenkel in it). I love this car to death eventhough it lives off premium and is RWD (snow tires are my next purchase for sure).
I hope my stay here will be a pleasant one.

I wouldn't worry about it being an Auto, I have an automatic myself and I get all kinds of crap from my buddies and co-workers (stuff like it being a girly car) and all that, but hey I have the Brutale (motorcycle) that I use half the time when I want to really run through the gears, not alot of cars can keep up with that
but when I drive I just want to get in the car and not have to worry about shifting
it's all personal taste

I'm in Oak Hill, around 30 miles from the capital of West Virginia, Charleston.
As for mods, I'm not really sure. What's the safest and cheapest, but with the most increase? I know that CAI's, exhausts, ECU tunes, etc. are available, but not sure what's the best.
On a different note, I saw MKZ and Milan test mules today while driving the RX8 on our fun back roads. It's so bizarre to see a car that's not out yet and in that camoflauge.

Congrats on your upgrade!!! Welcome to the club. Just make sure you keep up with the maintenance and read through the forum for any other questions or issues......The engine in your car is very different from others on the road......Hopefully, you will not find out the hard way.....Again, congratulations!!!!!!
