Hey Bill if you're going to buy a G35 go to the one on broad and talk to Jeff (my brother), you've met him before, he's the internet sale there.

Made it home OK last night but I was sort of locked in the Southport Business park when I left at 5:30. The road to Courthouse Road was backed up half a mile (never knew why). Alternately I tried to go up Trade Road by Whitten Mazda but it was flooded out (with a car stuck in the 2 feet of water) by the lock/key place. I hear Midlothian Turnpike was closed across from Walmart/Sams Club. It was a mess.

When I got home I discovered the power was out. Unfortunately it is still out. I have a generator (legacy from Isabel) but Comcast is also out. I had to do dialin for the Internet and Sarah complained because she couldn't watch Nick. Bummer, but it could be worse.

Is comcast still out? We got lucky, and that was all that we lost(and a leak in our ceiling in our 4 month old house, but the builders can take care of that). So I'm having interenet/cable withdrawal. Thank god 288 opened last week or we would have been stuck in that horrible mess you got stuck in Hanzo. I feel for you- that was just UGLY. One of our designers spent 5 1/2 hours getting home to Cary street last night.

Nah dude..you should leave it as is... no stripe..

Oh, and I got word from Cap Maz... My white 05 will be here in October.

I am going back to the 8.

They said the one they have coming has leather and I don't want leather so, I may not get that one..but the next one will be mine if it has cloth.

Well, last night was the first night I have been home since Saturday. I was in Atlanta till Monday night..then I flew into RIC right in the middle of the storm, and they told us to basicly write off trying to get to DT Richmond.

So, a friend came and got us, and I stayed on his floor on Monday night, then at my Mom's place on Tuesday.. Now we are back.. And my place and my car is fine.

Its just realy the BOTTOM area that messed up. But, there are cars scattard everywhere..

Kinda eire..

Right! That's why I will get it! I heard there are some slight changes.. I think the security package is diffrent..with a diffrent FOB. But, this is all speculation due to no offical word from Mazda.

I hope it has the closer gear ratio like the JDM 05 Model has.

But, I am already saveing money for my increased gas expenditure..heheheh

How has all your 8's been?

Just got this month's RX Tuner Magazine. 20 pages about 20Bs. Just seeing pictures of the engine sitting on a workbench is awesome.

There was also an interesting article by Jim Mederer of Racing Beat. With all their RX-8 work so far they have only been able to find small imrpovements in all areas (engine, exhaust, suspension, tires). Nothing dramatic. Apparently Mazda did a lot of tuning on the production car prior to initial release.

My dealer finally got the AC Amp in last week (on order sunce July 29) and I had it installed yesterday. It seems much colder. It still cycles, but from Cold-to-cool rather than cool-to-warm. The weather hasn't been warm enough to tell if it really fixed things.

Elara, did you get yours installed yet?

I hope they fixed these minor issues with the 05 model.

So far all I have read that was a confrimed change was a satalite radio option..

Yikes..

I hear (another thread) there are 30,000 new brake pads headed to the US to deal with the dust/squeeking problem. Yes, I would expect that all the minor stuff fixed by TSBs should be included in the 2005s. I assume there is a bigger bunch of small issues fixed that were either not important enough (stronger ash tray doors) or too expensive (improved fuel tank slosh control) to issue a TSB for.

Other than that I don't think a whole lot will change.

You were expecting something more?

I am not expecting anything like 25 city mpg or anything..(would be nice though) But, I just don't want to be takeing my RX in twice a month for issues again this go round. If anything soils my memory of my RX...it would be the trips to Cap Maz all the time.. And I haven't forgotten my tranny experience.

So, I am going on faith that Mazda corrected those issues. You do know in Japan their 05 RX8 has revisesed gear ratios. Shorter.. It got better times on the track with them.

They called me two weeks ago but I was at the beach and then at Tail of the Dragon, so it's going in this Friday for that, my oilpan (FINALLY) and my temp control ****. Sounds like I'll be getting some new brake pads too soon, so I can stop listening to that irritating squeal all the time.

BTW, you guys missed a hell of a weekend in NC- I highly recommend it for next year- we've already got the Mansion booked!! I had no idea this car could do what it did- it was truly amazing. First time I have ever driven this car anything close to it's limits. If anyone's interested next year we can all caravan down or something.

So are they changing the price on the 05? Hey hanzo I was thinking I should sell my 8 by owner then buy the 05 G35 hen they come out. So I would be carless for a few months. I am looking for a pretty much loaded G35 with leather/nav/sat radio/spoiler. I was told that the 05 G35 will have 15 more hp and an AWD coupe option. They are also shortening the throw on the shifter. If you know anything about the new G lemme know. Also do you guys have any clue what a GT 8 can sell for?

Thanks

I got into this a bit in another thread. Kelly Blue Book says $29,600. However, since dealers are selling new ones for $28,000-$29,000 you will probably have a hard time getting that.

In the "For Sale" forum, 6-speed GTs with moderate mileage (under 10K) seem to be available for $26,000+. You may want to start at $28,000 and then be bargained down.

BTW, we still need to hook up so I can get you the CD player/CD.

The AWD version only comes in 4 door sedan form and only in automatic. Go by the Infiniti dealership and talk to my brother Jeff, yesterday I told me they had new information on all 05s like the M45, G35, G35 coupe and so on. I think the new G35 coupe went up in horse power to 298hp.
