Rever do you have any connections in Japan? I have some items I would like from over there. (Temple tiles and such) repo only, I am not into stealing cultural icons.

Got my 8 back from Whitten this evening. Between the recalls, the free maintenance and the $50 Mazda check it cost me $0. Plus they did everything without breaking or scratching anything. Not even a B.O. problem.

You "North of the James" people may what to give Whitten service a try.

Elara, you said you had a problem with the Transmission Damper recall. What to I need to check to make sure mine was done right?

Check and see if your glove compartment just drops open when unlatched. It's supposed to open gently, but they occasionally break the stay damper that keeps it from dropping and bouncing, which is what was happened on mine. I guess they go in through the glove compartment or something for the heat shield recall.

Still wiping the drool up and checking on it every half hour or so... My wife's about to kill me.

Now, someone give me a street name or intersection or something that I can plug into the NAV and I'll show up at short pump this Friday... Very rarely go to Richmond, so I'm not familiar with the area.

Congrats!! Hope you enjoy the car. The meeting is at Short Pump Town Center (the new mall), behind the food court/comedy club. You can't miss it because there are a ton of EVOs, WRXs, a Porsche, some 8s, and even a Mazda3 that show up, all parked together at the end of the row it's pretty easy to spot. They start showing up between 7:30-8pm. Instead of us giving you directions, the mall website is probably an easier way to get directions- http://www.shortpumpmall.com/ .

Wednesday my 8 goes back into the shop. I am makeing them take the tranny out to see if there is a problem, also makeing them check the clutch.

aAweird driver side wind noise has appeard and I am going to have them look at that plus replace my passenger side speaker.

Looks like I won't have my 8 for a couple of days...

But, they better not give me any BS this time.

Sorry to hear about the problems with your 8. Maybe they'll actually listen this time and get the problem solved. Perhaps they'll give you something decent to drive for the few days that it'll be in the shop, but I highly doubt it. Hope it works out for you, and maybe if you're lucky you'll get a new clutch!

Okay guys and gal (Elara) check this out. My chick and I go up to CAP MAZ this morning to drop off my car. First thing I see is my favorite Mazda team there and ready. No need to talk to the Ford people... Pull up, they greet me with my name and I tell them the issue. I give them the keys, and the Mazda mechanic was there, and he was like let me take a peek at it. Got in my car...ran through the gears..and walla....NASTY GRINDING NOISE IN REVERSE comes up. He was like...ahh...now thats a issue. They couldn't give me a ETA because they said they had to call Mazda to see what the issue may be. So, I could be w/o my 8 for a minute. The Ford side of the shop..didn't even do that much. So, hopefully I will hear something by the end of the day.

That my new RX8 buddy is your speaker that is blown...Mine is being replaced. Also my funky tranny problem is being looked into and my driver side window has a loud wind noise so they are going to re-adjust that.

I can't wait till I have my baby back. I wuv my RX8.

Aah!!! SAY IT ISN'T SO!

My wife went through three speakers in her New Beetle before she got one that sounded decent.

How is it possible that the QC on car speakers is so horrible?

Blah.
