Not at all- I'll see if I can get it to do it. Since it's gotten warmer it hasn't been so noticible, but it'll still do it occasionally. Don't listen to 9kRever- it probably isn't blown. He's just a freak :D

:D If I can't pick on you, who CAN I pick on?

I know yours is blown . But yours is the first I've heard of being blown- most of us just have something rattling in the door that vibrates with the bass, which is probably more likely in this case than it actually being blown.

Did they ever call you? What's up with your car?

Okay kids... I got a call from Cap Maz..they said that they have been on the phone with Mazda and trying to figure out what would be the best way of approaching my car. They admited that they never taken out a RX8 tranny before, and the mechanic wanted to get the manual from Mazda and study up before they took it out and started to mess around. So they gave me the option to take my car home untill they were comfortable with working on the tranny. I was like take your time..I don't want my car to be a guinne pig.... Scary stuff guyz...

Did they say why they are doing this? What are they were going to do with the transmission once it is out of the car? I am not sure I would be comfortable with a diagnostic procedure with "step 1" being "Remove transmission.".

BTW, when you get it back it may not shift as well. See my post:

Yikes man! Thats awful!

I am skeptical about then takeing out my tranny period. At least they were honest and said that they have never done it before.

They said they were going to read the manual and learn more then they would call me back.

Wich is big of the dealer to admit. But, at least they did.

But, now I am at the point were I kinda want them to do it. That noise in reverse is realy disturbing. Its like ice in a blender...if you hear it once...its enough to make you think you broke something.

Also I am going to get them to check my clutch.

No matter what, that is not good. I wish you luck. Maybe Mazda tech support will give your guy some solid leads before you bring the car back in.

Keep us posted.

I have my car, but I will not be there tonite. My girl wants to spend quality time. I will be at TT Lounge afterwords though. So, if the new guy comes to short pump tonite tell him I to come to TT Lounge and I will be there.

I am not anxious to get my car fixed. It drives, its just reverse that is the major area of concern. I am concerned about them takeing the time and doing it right.

When I put it in it will more than likely be in there for a while. I am going to have them look at the clutch..replace the front brakes, adjust my driverside window, and replace the speaker. Along with whatever the tranny issue is..

So, we shall see. Worse comes to worse..if they screw it up beyond repair..I will get a new 8...or something....mabey go over to the EVO crew... You know they EVO now has 100,000 mille bumber to bumber warrenty....

I was asking because we may not be able to make it either- I've just got too much stuff going on between the house and Easter right now. I'll send livitup a pm in case he doesn't see this here...

Okay, now I really can't go, because we have to finish wiring the house tonight when we thought we could spend all afternoon tomorrow working on it. Oh well. Stupid flooring people.

Stupid, stupid flooring people.

I guess I'll represent the 8's tonight.

I have no idea what a TT Lounge is though, unless there's an Audi dealership nearby.

Rever, call me on my cell, I'll send you a PM with it. We (the wife and I) will probably still be around.

TT Lounge is a juiceish (?) drink place on W. Cary near the VCU parking deck at Main and Laurel.

I want to say it's the 6 or 700 block, south side of Cary St.

Grrrrrr---- I'm going to hurt someone. Due to the ineptitude of the builder's realtor and the moronic flooring people, I have now driven to Southside TWICE tonight, and gotten NOTHING done except waste a lot of gas. So not only did I miss the meeting, but my house has some issues that I'm not happy about. Someone's going to be hearing from us tomorrow....

Boo flooring people.

Had a great time tonight. Thanks to Rever for coming out. We'll definatley be back, though probably not every week. We'll shoot for once a month or so. The trip up and down is really nice. Hope to see you next time, Elara!

So to make everything even MORE fun, someone broke into our house last night after we left. We got lucky. All they did was walk around, and leave some footprints on the wet finish on the hardwood. Our neighbors got screwed- the jerks broke into a backhoe, drove it around, dug holes in their yard, and then broke their $6000 deck into tiny pieces. Last week, they stole the heating/ac unit out of another house they kicked the door in, after trying unsuccessfully trying to get into ours then too.

We're going to have some fun next week when we move in- the builder's camping out tonight- but as of next Friday when we close, we'll be in the house and can hide out, and take some long, LATE walks with our infrared digital camera...

Sounds like kids, which at least means you shouldn't have any problems after you move in. We can't leaves cars out unlocked overnight in my neighborhood. Kids go through the glove box and steal sunglasses and toll-change. In your case you can't leave unlocked backhoes ....

Remember that there is a federal regulation requiring that you experience certain minimum levels of frustration and stress before you are allowed to close on a house. The important thing is that it will be over in less than a week and whether it is vandals or idiots, all the problems will ultimately get fixed.

Elara,

Yipes! But look on the bright side, now you get to deal with the stupid flooring people again! I agree with msrecant, sounds like kids, but be careful out there. Don't get confrontational, you could get hurt. Bring along the cell phones and call the cops if you catch them in the act.

I have also had this problem on several threads over the past few months. It is intermittent, like it forgets about me for a while then magically comes back.

Well, my RX8 goes under the knife (socket wrench) next week. Talked to the mechanic...and they said..theY will.. 1) REFLASH ECU WITH "L"FLASH...(they did not do that before) 2) Replace front breaks 3) Adjust driverside window 4) Replace passanger side speaker 5) Inspect transmission for damage 6) Check clutch.

Needless to say, I won't have my 8 for quite some time....
